Dear Traveler / visitor/ person looking for something to do,

Theatr Gwaun is an Independent Theatre, Cinema, Bar and Cafe in Fishguard, North Pembrokeshire. It's been a place for entertainment since 1885 when it was built as a Temperance Hall, becoming one of the first cinema's in Wales in the early 1920's.

We're an intimate venue of only 180 seats and a single Cinema screen, but we're equipped to be able to accommodate the highest level of professional theatre and live music, and our 4K resolution, Dolby surround sound digital cinema system is a match for any screen in the country. Search our website for events.

Most of all though, we're a friendly lot and like nothing better than to meet new people for a chat and to show off our venue! So if you're in the area, please call in and we'll give you a tour. Feel free to send me an email about anything you like using the listed email with FAO Paul in the title.

Best Wishes,

Paul

Theatre Manager

This was the first time we had been here and we decided because each ticket was £4 cheaper than where we usually go. We were very pleasantly surprised. It was cosy, warm and comfortable, all the volunteers were very friendly and helpful and we could take our drinks in. We were so impressed, we booked for another show at the... More

Community run cinema /concert hall. Taken over by the local community and run by volunteers. This might be a "oh dear" moment but no. The venue is well run, well managed and seems to understand whats going to pull in the crowds. A local councilor who shall remain nameless prophesied it would fail almost before the project got off the... More

Excellent small cinema / theatre showing a good range of current films and some live performances. Comfortable, bar, and very reasonable ticket prices. Long may it last.

Although this is a small cinema and movies come here a few weeks after general release, it's still value for money and has a.lot to.offer. Not.only is there movies but they also have live comedy and when the folk or jazz festivals are.in town, this place offers a good facility for some class bands and performers.

Lovely little cinema & theatre, showing the latest movies and some smaller productions. Also live broadcasts from the National Theatre and hilarious plays from the local drama group. Tickets are only 6.50 for adults and 4.50 for under 16s. Discount on Monday mornings! Cinema has got a nice small bar / cafe, also open in the day. It's all run... More

In these days of the multiplex, home cinema and box set this is the perfect niche to find yourself in. Welcoming, inexpensive and bang up to date in its choice of films. Everything from The Revenant and DiCaprio to High Rise with Tom Hiddleston. Plus comedy nights and, coming in August, Aberjazz. The cinema is comfortable with plenty of leg... More

It would have been so easy to let the cinema die in Fishguard - the local volunteer army have done a perfect job keeping this venue alive for both the indigenous and holiday making populations. The place had a varied listing - blockbuster films, live performance from both local and visiting performers. A jewel and well worth a visit on... More
