Beautiful mosque in Shiraz. If you visit there you can easily visit Vakil bazaar too and also enjoy a coffee near the mosque Cafes.

The north side of Vakil mosque behind the entrance hall has a very large and magnificent arch known as the Pearl Arch. Its span is 12 meters and the height is 20 meters. On the two left and right piers of the house pearl vault is been tiled, adorned with floral and shrub drawings, leaves and other designs. At the bottom of the arches of this vault there are sentences written in the Naskh handwriting. On each side of this vault, four smaller arches form the narrow porch. The porch is 5 meters wide and its piers are covered with colored tiles that have the names of flowers and shrubs and God's names. Above the pearl arch there are two beautifully tiled Minaret.

There is an extraordinarily art, a kind of #traditional #tilework in the main entrance of the south prayer hall in the vakilmosque , Shiraz, Iran which is called "Magheli" tiles, that consist of tiny pieces of tiles which form a puzzle-shaped design when put together, picturing words and sentences mostly in Kufic scripts, an islamic art calligraphy.

This ancient masque has been built by Karim Khan Zand, the founder of Zand Dynasty in 1750 AC.
It's located next to Vakil Bazarre and Vakil Bath, all of them from Zand dynasties.
They are all the most famous tourist attractions in shiraz.
The mosque columns are all from monolithic stone carved in spirals shape .
I recommend all of them for all visitors.

This mosque is rightly renowned for the 48 columns supporting the prayer hall, but just as impressive is the tile work of the portal iwan, and the inner courtyard with its alcoves and porches. since it is disused, it can be visited at any reasonable time of day

A very peaceful place as it is not very popular between tourists, you can enjoy a quiet time and the architecture. It is near the entrance to the bazar and Vakil baths, so if u are in the vicinity why not give it a visit.

Hello friends
I saw two guys from Switzerland and Australia they were surprised that the mosque at 12 is open.
If you have planned to visit this beautiful mosque it's open at 8 A.M to 8 P.M on weekdays nonstop.
Remember that during Friday it's closed.
Hope to see you here.
