El Chalten is a walking town, that's no news. There are so many jewels hidden in the woods, that a single journey sometimes is not enough. So, I strongly recommend this one. The beauty of this place will knock you off. First you have to...More

We paid the US$20 not really expecting to get our moneys worth but it had been recommended so we went. A good hours drive from El Chalten and the gravel road is not great. A wander through the most magical forest I have ever seen,...More

Glaciar Huemul is over 1 hr drive from El Chalten, on a private property. If you do not have a car, book a spot on a daily van from Las Lengas (at bus terminal or arranged by hotel front desk). It's a nice hike on...More

Because this glacier is on private land you have to pay 200 pesos per person plus 10 pesos if you use their toilets (which were clean and stocked with paper). If you've never gotten close to a glacier this is a good option, especially since...More

There are couple nice hikes to the Glacier after a slow bumpy ride on a gravel road full of potholes. One can drive or take a shuttle bus there but hitchhiking is another option since there is a fair amount of traffic on this road.The...More

Amazing place. To reach the glacier you have to walk for about one hour in a beautiful landscape. It is totally worth it. I recommend to have lunch once you arrive to the glacier and it's lake. Se disfruta muchísimo el momento.

This was our 3rd hiking day, after walking the Cerro Fitzroy and Torre trails. It's a fairly easy 1.5 hour up-and-down hike, with some great panoramic views on a clear day including Fitz Roy. It's relatively peaceful with few visitors - lunch at the top...More

I took the shuttle bus from El Chalten (400AR$) for a day trip to Glacier Huemul. It is another 100AR$ when you get there to pay to cross the private and. The owners have a building set up where you pay and can buy snacks...More

The forest and the way to get in there is so beautiful. it reminded me the Elfo's forest on the Lord of the ring movie.:)

It hilarious but I think it is actually some man's property that you traipse through. Not a very hard hike but the little faces, made by past hikers, in the moss is kind of funny(perhaps not the best for nature, so I DO NOT condone...More
