We hiked up from Hosteria El Pilar to the viewpoint overlooking the glacier and lake below Fitz Roy. A stunning set of spires. The beech forest is interesting and unlike anything we'd seen.

Fitz Roy is amazing if "he" wants to come out and say hello. We were in l Chalten 4 days and got some great (and not great) views of this incredible and scenic massif.

This hike is great for moderate climbers, you don't have to be an advanced hiker, but it is long and you need to be in fairly good shape. If you can do it though, the views along the way make every step worth it! Breath...More

The group hike to the viewpoint was nice and sunny. But, once at the viewpoint, all we could see were clouds around where we were told were the mountains.

Better than Torres. Definitely worth the effort. Last kilometre is bit tough but doable. Less crowded and much nicer walk than torres.

Hello. I would advise checking with your accommodation place as we walked the area from El Chalten. Otherwise I would go with the Andesmar group of companies, which run on time and do not leave people behind at the drop off... More

El Chalten is very small. You don't need public transportation to anywhere in El Chalten. You can walk to trails, restaraunts , bus station etc
