Located at the very center of Merida, Plaza Bolívar shows visitors the roots of the city's history: it was here that modern-day Merida was founded.

Merida is a nice city in Venezuela, far away from the chaos of Caracas. Plaza Bolivar is a nice spot to take a walk and relax a bit walking the venezuelan life going around.

Just as any other place in and around Merida, the Plaza Bolivar is a great place to visit, if someone happens to make the rather complicated trip to Merida.

You can spend a number of hours hanging out in the plaza. There are lots of people watching opportunities, food and craft stalls, and ongoing political and social gatherings. Definitely worth a visit for one or two afternoons.

A nice little plaza full of street vendors worth their local goods and many clothes, next to the cathedral. Worth a quick visit to take a look around.

Nice place to visit. Be careful with pickpocketing, though. Nice seating area, it's in the downtown area.
