Wine tour and tasting at a historic spot

We had a short and informative private tour with the junior (a young and energetic woman) winemaker. Followed by a tasting. Book in advance!

Great deception of our visit to Cafayate: wine offered for tasting is usually the lowest quality of the bodega (even if you are ready to pay). Additionally rare foreign language speakers, doesn't allow proper communication to discover the local production. El Esteco what THE GREAT EXCEPTION to this situation. Of course you got to pay for your tasting and choose... More

This is one of the more emblematic wineries in Cafayate, not only due to its location (at the entrance of town) but also due to its history, architecture, and most importantly their wines! El Esteco has great wines, although not all of them are available at the tasting room. If you want to taste all their top wines you have... More

El Esteco is a pearl in Cafayate. Staff will welcome you and explain all the process of the wine making in an extraordinary and professional way making sounds even easy. The selection of wine are for all the taste and for sure you will find your favourite. I found mine. The wine tasting is available for all pocket and you... More

Well worth the drive from Salta awesome scenery to get here and then lunch followed by a good wine tour. Very extensive vinyard operation . Very good guides although we may have gotten more out of it if both couples spoke 1 language rather than having to translate for us - we could have asked more ?'s. The new/old way... More

El esteco is one of the bigger producers and exporters of wine in Cafayate. This is why it's interesting to do the tour, though is more of a company visit than a artisanal wine learning experience. The tasting includes two very good wines but is short and standing. I would recommend to visit el esteco, but to pair it with... More

It's a pity that a beautiful clear and ranxh home, so nicely restaured Provides such a low value in their service proposition. Not interesting as a Lodge and less even as a restaurant. But well then, it seems to be kind of trendy. Have a nice nap instead and visit some other place

We came here for a tasting only as we've done plenty of winery tours before. The lady was very friendly - FAR more so than any other winery we went to - and the wines we tasted were great. We just got to try 3, but they were very generous glasses, almost full size. It was nice to be able... More

We pulled in here having driven from Salta. Just fancied a quick bite to eat, and were not expecting such great food (at very reasonable prices, AR$180 for main courses) and wine. Loved sitting outside in the sunshine, with the activity in the surrounding vineyards, and the resident llamas (seriously) topping things off. Recommended. The wine tasting next door in... More
