Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The site is worth a stop like most of the attractions on the road to Cafayate. I found it good for a few pictures but the visit doesn't take more than 10 minutes. I really had much more fun climbing its neighbouring Garganta del Diablo. The previous night there had been a bad storm, so there were gaps full of mud that were kind of dangerous. I buried my feet and leg up to my calf in a big one.

The amphitheater is one of those typical tourist landmarks that are promoted with great fanfare but when you arrive you are left with a flower of disappointment.
It is neither more nor less than a cliff, a cliff carved into the mountain.
The only really picturesque thing is the road to get there, which is full of wonderful landscapes, but the amphitheater itself is not worth it, or at most going to see it for a little while but it doesn't last more than 15 minutes.

Visited as part of a day trip from Salta to Cafayate in May 2017. Large canyon leading to an ampitheatre style opening, beneath and impressive plain and mountains. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area.

Amazing views overall. Free entrance except for the trinkets you buy from the locals which are actually very nice and we bought a number of them.

The place is enchanting. It humbles you to be surrounded by the rock's walls. In addition, there is usually a musician playing local music, that adds to the visit. At the entrance, local vendors of native jewelry at reasonable prices.

Amphitheatre or devils throat? Amphitheater is better, but most people stop at both. A few stalls line it, and a musician was there. It was beautiful and impressive. Worth a quick 5 min stop from salta to Cafayate. We came in our own car and was worried the stones on the dirt track would burst our tires but was ok! Enjoy!

As others have said, this is a short walk to an impressive geological formation. When we were there, two parrots were calling to each other and creating their own amplified music for the space. It would have been cool to hear flutes, but perhaps they didn’t want to compete!

We saw this as part of our drive along Routa 68 and one of the stop after the Quebrada de la Conchas. Every stop is worth it as they are all so different. Extremely beautiful scenery and rock formations. Highly recommended.

There are no signs, so look out for parked cars and it is a very short walk to this - with free entry and take your time to walk around. We were lucky on the day we were there, that there was a local musician sitting playing his beautiful tune and the acoustics are awesome. The rock layers are phenomenal and this is gigantic.
