Amazing view from the top!
Jan 2020 • Friends
The walk is not difficult, but when it’s hot, the walk can seem quite unbearable. But it’s so worth it! Amazing view of the cruise ship! Bring an umbrella to block the sun and a lot of water. To see more, visit my YouTube channel: Morgancita

It’s a bit of a steep climb to this landmark, but definitely worth it for the view.....and the exercise! We took some lovely photos of the island on the way up, and at the top. The church itself is fairly plain, but it has a character and an appeal of its own, so definitely worth seeing.

the walk up there is not too difficult except when you do it in the big heat. so take plenty of water. the views pay for it, really beautiful and very close to reach from the port.

Beautiful View
Nov 2019
We arrived on cruiseship and hike up to the church. It is a relatively flat path, except the last 10 minute, which is a slop to get up to the church. However, the view along the walk is breath taking.

The church is small and quaint. The appeal is the views of ESO beach and Janis Bay. In addition the native flowers around the church are gorgeous

Lovely small church perched on top of cliff
Oct 2019
At first we turned left after walking through market, not too far along road sign said it was a private road with chain across and no access to church. Back tracked with many other folk and then were told that we had to walk short distance up steep hill and then turn left, should have been a signpost on walking through market. Longish walk in heat though shaded by many trees but most humid. Finally reached steps leading up to church, many steps quite wide but rough in places and steep. Church very simple but lovely, inside very peaceful. Great views from outside church. Walked back down again. I was okay with the walking but husband who has problems walking found it a struggle to keep going, did have a couple of rests but apart from at the base of steps leading to church and one plank balanced on concrete there were no places to sit and rest. It was well worth while making the effort to view church

Was quite a walk as fitness level could be better but once we arrived at the Church there was wonderful view of the surrounding bays and the church itself was very quaint.

Great view from the top of the blue waters. Need to take water with you as steps are steep. Worth the walk for the view.

Cruise 2019

Steep walk to this church. You really need to be fit enough to walk up steps. I really liked it. The view is remarkable. The church is really small but has a sense of peace. Nothing remarkable about it but when you image how the rest of the island would have been when it was first built they achieved something pretty special. Not good if you have a buggy for a young child but children can walk up. I would recommend good shoes for walking.
