Hi, Can I recommend you get in touch with Yalew Tafete, we used Yalew to arrange our itinerary when we visited Ethiopia and was very impressed with his service. Yalew was able to book our internal flights for us as we live in the UK. Drop him an email and see if he can help in anyway. I do not think I can put Yalews email address on this response but if you search for me Jodie0 under trip advisor members which comes up at the bottom of the list under results and you will be able to read my post on the Simien Mountains, I have included the email address on there. Enjoy your trip.

I don't recommend driving all the way from Addis, but you can fly to Gondar and hire a driver/car there, and then drive to the Simiens. I did that. I then drove from the Simiens to Bahir Dar, by Lake Tana --gorgeous place, and then flew from Bahir Dar to Addis. Both flights cost me under $400 buying them directly from Ethiopian Airlines online, and it was a great itinerary. I stayed 2 nights at the Simiens Lodge and 2 nights at the Kuriftu Resort in Bahir Dar. It was well worth the money spent.
