Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was completely blown away by this place. So glad we stopped. Had a great tour and gained a lot of information from the knowledgeable staff. I also read up on the area before we got there and learned that some of the oldest fossils are more than half a billion years old as the area was once a shallow sea. I would post some pictures but it just really doesn't do the items Justice. Some of the bigger items are definitely pricey, but there are plenty of really interesting pieces for under a hundred or even under $50. Just look around and if you are interested in any type of archaeology/geology you will be able to find something you will like. I would recommend spending an hour minimum looking around. I definitely spent longer than that. It certainly didn't feel like a tourist trap to me and I really don't know how you can fake a fossil? I got several items for myself and family and so glad I did. I then did a little more research on the area which is really fascinating. They wrapped all the items well and they all made it home safely. And you have the option of getting larger items shipped home if that is your preference. All in all I thought the prices were very reasonable for the very unique items they offer.

Our tour guide took us to this place. It was pretty quiet, we were the only customers. We got a nice and compact introduction into the history and variety of fossils. There was no forcing for us to buy. My favorite was the fossil toilet (which we didn’t buy, but for someone who already has everything) 😂 There seemed to be also other places along the road selling fossils but this was the only one where we stopped and no complaints!

We bought a fossil table top and small figurine. Got a good price and staff was very helpful. When one of the pieces didn't make it intact in my luggage, I was able to work with them to get a replacement. While I did have to pay for it, I felt I was well take care of. They sent me pictures with tape measurements back to the US. I would suggest that unless you have hardside luggage, that you have them ship any purchases to you, even thought it costs more.

This is a modern facility producing a wide variety of items manufactured from mined fossil. There is a very informative tour leading to a well stocked store with very few unique pieces.
This place is not cheap and has a very sanitized (non ethnic) feel. Not even the complimentary mint tea offering. Could be anywhere.

I highly recommend visiting Morabit Marbre to see, and potentially purchase, some of the most stunning fossils imaginable, including massive trilobites. The fossils have been carefully, and often artistically revealed in very large (as well as medium and small) slabs. These are jaw dropping Moroccan fossils. The people there did not engage in any high pressure salesmanship, only professionalism. There is also a lot of informative signage and descriptions of the fossils. This place is fabulous.

We are two geologists and bought some nice crinoid fossils and a couple trilobite fossils from them. The other reviews are correct in that they are not super cheap, it is kind of a sterile feel and feels a bit like a tourist trap. They do a pretty good job of showing what the fossils are, how they are cleaned etc.... We bought a fairly large fossil and had it shipped to the US. It took a couple months but they did a fantastic job of packing them and they arrived safely. I would recommend this shop if you are interested in buying larger fossils especially. They speak English well and did a fantastic job of shipping and tracking our fossils, they made sure we took pictures ahead of time so we knew we got the right ones shipped to us etc...

We traveled with a tour guide in Morocco, and after telling him that we were interested in learning more about fossils he took us here.

Our tour guide seems to know the owner of the shop. Once we arrived, we were expected by a tour guide who had no interest in explaining about fossils but selling his fossils to us.

We are not sure whether the fossils were real or fake. However, the prices are shown for each item and in addition they offered 30% off of the original price.

We felt like this was one of the tourist traps and so we didn't end up buying anything.
