7 days Machame route. Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

Machame Route or the “whiskey route” is one of the most popular routes due to its picturesque views and varied landscapes.

However, climbing through Machame Route is a bit difficult as compared to Marangu route. Even though the walk on the Machame route is steeper and longer, still the success rate is higher than the Marangu route.

Machame Route is not technically difficult, but the climb is more exhausting as it has many ups and downs crossing a chain of valleys and ridges. Therefore, the route is best suited for people with some hiking or trekking experiences and for those who love adventures.

Lemosho route. Mount Kilimanjaro 7 days

The lemosho route Kilimanjaro is the longest of the outfield routes, and sometimes regarded as the second timers Kilimanjaro route, although it is also for anyone with an appetite for a quieter trail and a more remote atmosphere. Most hikers often say that the beauty of the Lemosho route Kilimanjaro is due to the fact that the route is a little less accessible than the Machame Route. The other added bonus of the Lemosho route ilimanjaro is that more time is spent hiking on the Shira Plataue thus allowing a greater chance of acclimitisation. The Lemosho route Kilimanjaro also has the added potential of big game sighting on the lower reaches, requiring sometimes that the first day be hiked in the company of an armed game scout. And by game, we do not mean monopoly or chess.

Marangu route 6 days climbing program Mount Kilimanjaro

The Marangu Route is the oldest on Kilimanjaro and is also one of the most popular – mainly because it is the only route on the mountain that has huts provided for hikers. There are 60 bunk beds each at Mandara and Kibo Huts, and 120 bunk beds at Horombo Hut.

Typically tour operators provide mattresses and pillows for climbers (sleeping bags however, need to be brought separately by trekkers).

The Marangu route can be completed in 5 days; however, it is recommended that climbers take an extra day to acclimatise at Horombo Hut.

The main setback on the Marangu Route is that the ascent is exactly the same as the descent and therefore there is not as much variety in settings compared to other routes. It also means that the route can get very crowded.

The Marangu Route success rate also tends to be low as it is usually chosen by inexperienced and unprepared trekkers who are misled to believe it is the easiest route.

Amazing adventure! 4 days, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater

All your senses will be involved; from smelling early morning coffee, experiencing the thrill of a kill to the chill of a morning game drive. Falling asleep to the hooting of an owl or waking up with the roaring of a lion is what you will experience. The safari experience is all the more intense as you are 'right in the middle' of it all. The nearness to the nature, especially at night with its nocturnal sounds, compensates for the luxury of a lodge.

Rongai route, 7 days Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

It's advantages are a more gradual ascent in terms of terrain which allows for excellent acclimatisation plus we include an additional days acclimatisation so you can enjoy the stunning scenery from Mawenzi camp. The days are shorter and less demanding on the Rongai route.
