Store wasn't open
Jun 2017 • Solo
I went to this store today, I was very excited considering the reviews...

I was there at 11am and it was closed. I asked a couple of the stored nearby and was told that they hadn't seen him for a while.

I reordering phone the number and the phone was disconnected. I can't 100% say it is permanently closed, but don't be disappointed if it is.

Best place to buy souvenirs in Moshi
Apr 2017 • Business
During my four-day stay in Moshi I visited the city's major markets and many souvenir and book shops. Solomon, in his early 20s, was the only shop keeper that had fixed prices on the items sold in his shop, which, in fact, were more tourist friendly than elsewhere. Furthermore, he was very informative and helpful and last but not least candid: he showed which items were produced in Tanzania which were not, so that I could buy authentic souvenirs that were made in Tanzania. I discovered Sanaa Zetu by chance. Finding it is neither easy nor mission impossible. As you walk from the Clock Tower to Moshi Book Shop, on the right side of the road you will see the Arcade. Enter the Arcade and Solomon's souvenir shop will be on your right just a few steps ahead - next to a small book shop.

Superb souvenir shopping
Feb 2017 • Solo
I highly recommend this place for buying tanzanian souvenirs! It's a bit hidden in a passage at the KNCU building, u have to enter the passage before you actually see the store (I passed it two times actually...). Inside you'll find numerous samples of tanzanian gifts, jewellery and other artsy stuff which make great gifts for family, friends or just as souvenir. Not cheap but of high quality and the store dude spoke perfectly fluent english and german(!). Compared to other places in moshi/around kili thisbis definetly one of the best options!

No-haggle curio shop run by refreshingly honest people
Jul 2015 • Family
For over ten years we've gone out of our way to buy most carvings and souvenirs at this shop in Moshi on repeated occasions, because the owners price at reasonable levels to obviate the need to bargain. They have a good selection of crafts, and avoid junk. An excellent place to buy wood carvings especially, which are prone to price-gouging. This is also a good place for honest advice and directions. This is in the weathered, once spectacular KNCU building which has a restaurant and toilets on the top floor above the hotel, as well as a few other shops in their arcade below.
