Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place was my hidden paridise before it was discovered. Boat trip sleep on the beach overnight. Oh the memories....went there yesterday and still a nice place. Great tor children swimming and snorkeling which is a surprise for indo beaches Has few small Warungs with basics like water and pop mie. A 30 minute hike through the jungle along a trail or a boat ride around the headland. If travelling to red island go to wedi ireng instead no crowds. Take a bottle of water and snacks in case the Warungs are closed. Enjoy.

first of all, for how to get there: from banyuwangi city, u can rent a car (price about Rp.250.000,-/day no driver) and heading to Mustikabeach, which the same direction with The Red Beach (Pantai Merah), there's a lot of street sign on the way, or you can use WAZE. it's about 2,5hr driving. just about you're going to entering pantai merah, go Right and just go straight to Mustika Beach / Pancer. When u arrived at Mustika Beach, there's a information booth, go over there and buy your boat ticket for Rp.25.000/person oneway. Then you follow the boat man, going by bot took only 15mn ride. the you arrived at Wedi Ireng neach. enjoy the sunburn in your skin.
what i love the most about wedi ireng is, it's still quite, the food wasn't overprice, not too much people on saturday!

A beautiful spot that has now been turned into a playground for the local tourists. Having last visited Wedi Ireng (Black Sand Beach) in 2010 on a camping trip and several times prior I was very surprised to see what has become of the beach that was once difficult to get too. There is now a dirt road suitable for motor bikes or walking, that starts from right side of the entrance of Pancer Village which is several kilometers past Pulau Merah (Red Island) and runs for 2 kilometers through farm land, then jungle down onto the beach. There is a 5000rp entrance fee on arrival and you are given a ticket which is hung on the bike.
The beach is still beautiful and a good attempt has been made to keep it clean which is great to see. There are a number of Warungs on the beach selling food and drinks. Anchored on the beach are several long boats that have brought local tourists from Pancer Village. It is also one of the better beaches to swim in as it is sheltered by offshore islands which reduces the wave action. There is a reef offshore which is good for snorkeling.
There is actually two bays there, a smaller one to the east which has more rock close to shore but has areas that can still be swum in and as yet no Warungs.
For the real adventurous souls there is a overgrown track towards the west end of the beach up the hill which will take you to Rajegwesi Bay. About 1 – 2 hours walk through the jungle. Take plenty of water.

Wedi ireng is silent beach. why? because when we go there, we just feel relax, and scenery in wedi ireng beach is very awesome. If you go there in the morning, you can snorkling.

It is quite near from Pulau Merah Beach. To get here, I chose to down the hill by 30 minutes walking. But, it is worth the journey. The beach is totally great, enjoyable atmosphere, very clean, everything cheap there, few visitor seen.
But for the goodness of this place, the trash should be controlled earlier.

A very beautiful vitamin sea. You have 2 options to go to the beach, by Hills tracking or by boat. Hills tracking takes about 30 - 45 minutes but it's so worthy once you hear the sound of the waves and see the crystal clear water and white sand beach. The boat cost 25k rupiah for one way trip.
