Although you can't climb most of the temples, you can walk through the landscape and that is well worth it. Beautiful and stunning try to experience this temple at sunrise or sunset.

Disappointed, no more climbing up to see sunset. Came in a wrong timing. But the temple still looks amazing though

Currently under renovation so you can't really go in. It's a good place for sunrise. There is another pagoda (forgot the name) nearby that you may go up to view sunset. Always ask the visitor center regarding the latest pagodas in which you may climb...More

We only managed to find out about this one from our guesthouse owner. The path to the temple is more sandy than usual, and you might have to push your ebikes if you're on one. Climb to the top for great views and great photos!

Pyathada requires some travel on dirt roads. A large supposedly unfinished temple, with a very large upper terrace, offering great views all around. Ideal for viewing sun sets, sun rises. Draws large crowds but not as much as the other more easily accessible sunset view...More

This temple is a great place to watch the sunrise. You get 360 views of Bagan, and the hot air balloons fly right over you. The other temples are a little far away, but if it's the hot air balloons you are wanting to see,...More

We watched the sunrise here on our second morning in Bagan. There were about 20-30 other people here but it wasn't as manic and crowded as Shwesandaw - you'll get a nice spot to sit and watch the sunrise over the temples of Bagan and...More

It looks like a fortress, and in the relentless heat of the day, acts like a wonderful fortress, keeping the high outside temperature at bay. This is a temple you can climb up onto the upper terraces, and from where you can view a wonderful...More

The sunset view from the top is magical. We went there at 4:30 to find a good spot. The phya is little bit further away than Sweshandaw, but less crowded.
