Run down, tower delapidated/closed, but nice for a hike up to (640 steps - not 1,000!) and views. 100 rupees per adult (foreigners) to climb up the stairs.

The walk up a long winding stair is nice, being among green hills, a path with flowers and shadow. Entry fee was 100 rupee. It is also nice to meet a lot of local students and people going up for picnics - at least during...More

Located on the highest point in this area, wonderful view, the temple is very old, the strucutre seems to be affected by the earthquakes, the kali temple is very much a place to pay a visit.

First walk through Dhulikhel bazaar, then climb the thousand steps and reach the top of this hill, where you will find the temple and a friendly Sadduh, who collects international paper money, but also accepts a Nepali banknote (only one to our surprise). You can’t...More

The hike up from Dhulikel is quite a nice, scenic trek along a hillside with sweeping views of the surrounding rice terraces and the Kathmandhu Valley. The Kali Temple is in a place with a beautiful view, but the temple itself is not that interesting....More

Dust and poor maintain temple. Afternoon trail is safe. No road lamps after dark. You can reach by road or by 1000 stairs. Good for afternoon walks. Green. Wild flowers. Rest shades. But no toilet facility.
