A amazing monastery, maintained so well, those who are looking after it need the highest compliments, the devotion of the monks and the energy is unique.

Definitely worth the trek from Kathmandu. Recommend staying overnight for a peaceful night’s rest, cooler temperature and wonderful experience. We are thankful to the Lama for allowing us to experience their daily life including prayer and meals.

It seems many people hike up to the monastery - good idea as the dirt road leading up guarantees an extremely bumpy and dusty ride by bus or taxi. The night at Namobuddha should have been a highlight of our tour of Nepal, but turned...More

The bus ride up to the monastery is an adventure, especially the final stretch when the bus grinds its way through the sandy and dusty dirt road. The monastery sits on top of a mountain and has a new guest house. Stunning views in all...More

You can't change the weather, so you just appreciate whatever you see for what it is. I think there may have been a great view, but not sure! The cafe there has some good food and is reasonably priced.

I actually spent three nights/two and a half days at the monastery as part of a tour. My first thought, as a person with no religious adherence, that this would bore me, but I had a great time. Our group had two guides for our...More

A huge site but very welcoming and friendly with the monks young and old always busy. Fantastic views and a reasonable Cafe. Horrible road journey from Kathmandu so try to stay overnight locally.

Better known as Namo Buddha monastery, this beautiful spot is worth the long uphill climb from Dhulikel. Monks of all ages gather for worship in the shrine, morning and evening, and visitors are welcome to join them. No photos are allowed inside the shrine, which...More
