The Park and the Forest

The trees sprawling in the plaza makes a forest ornamented with lights that glitters in the night. This place is the hibernating place ideal during summer.

The park's improvements is a legacy of the then Governor Oca Moreno who is now the mayor of Cagayan de Oro City. During the previous administrations like that of Governors Calingin and Dongkoy Emano, it was an unkempt park resembling a bush land.

I like to jog in this place because of its ambiance. There are surrounding trees that can protect the joggers from the direct heat of the sun. There are also benches where you can take a rest if you are tired already. Every Saturday and Sunday, there are also Zumba lessons. It's excellent venue to get healthy body.

Great place and safe enough for an early morning jog with family and friends. If you are lucky enough you can even join a Zumba session for free!

When decided to just be on your own, to enjoy the view and to look at every Kagay-anon or wandering tourists that pass by, be at Vicente de Lara Park. I enjoyed taking pictures and just breathing some fresh air. Thanks to the surrounding huge trees.

This park has street vendors so you don't need to get your self to worry about snacks. There is also some street foods, its yummy if your up to the challenge. Recently it has been flooded by homeless people and some fountains of the park was not operational.

I was at Vicente de Lara Park at night and since they currently have a curfew at 11pm, the tanods were nice enough to let me stay a while after learning I was only visiting. The lights were very pretty and it's a good place to rest after a long day of walking around CDO.
