Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was lovely, don't get me wrong...but having completed Gwongeumseong Fortess, Ulsanbawi and Biryong Falls...the Biseondae Rocks just paled in comparison. Maybe if I'd done this course first...it would have impressed me more.
Tip: Do the biseondae course first...then the other courses.

Easy walk but it's a mountain trail so there are bouldery bits to step on...the last few hundred metres involve more stepping on boulders climbling up...so be careful not to slip whilst stepping on leaves etc...terrain for the last bits looks like the photo....

This is the amazing valley with rocky peaks and stream. It is fun for visitor of all ages.
- It takes about one and a half for a round trip from the starting point of Sogongwon Entrance.
- Very easy trail.
- There are Chinese scripts on rocks. Great to watch from the bridge.
- Access to the water is not permitted.
- Biseondae is the starting point of mountain climbing. Saw many climbers too.

Biryong Falls or Biseondae Rocks? This was the question on my mind as I had only about 2hours to explore. Our guide settled it for me when he said that Biryong Falls requires a little more "energy" as it involves walking up and down slope. Biseondae Rocks on the other hand is a easy meander through the woods.
A little into the trails, I was wondering why I had bothered to walk at all..... Biseondae Rocks trail probably looks beautiful in Autumn, but in early winter, all the trees were bare and it looked like a forlorn pathway, devoid of interest. The views did improve along the way. Halfway through, you will come across a bridge overlooking some mountains. The little cascading waters (not yet frozen in early winter) at Biseondae Rocks (almost at the end) relaxes the mind.
We took nearly 2hours to complete the walk (with children). Not many tourists on this path, so I would recommend it if you would like to escape from the commercial feel of the cable car.

Try to follow the route further - in 1-2 kms you will see amazing waterfalls and scenery. Further up the route in 5-6 km, there will be a pass. From that we have seen the best scenery in the park, route to the pass is quite steep (not to Biseondae Rocks itself).

This is a farely different hike because the first 2.8 km is flat and easy but the last 0.2 km is straight up.A mixture of concrete, wooden, metal and rock steps takes you to the Biseondae rocks and tjen the cave. The steps to the cave are metal and steep. It is best to use the metal railing to support and pull you up and down.It makes it easier. The cave is just a hole maybe 10 meters long with candles and holy items.A man there will ask you
to take off your shoes if you want to pray. There are two photo spots. One from corner of top steps. The other is from the outcrop of rocks below the steps.

This is an easy trail to walk, given that it is a wide and flat path for most part of the trail. Recommended for a walk in the forest and to soak in the fresh air and for phototaking opportunities, especially during the autumn season. No particular landmarks or attractions along the way except the Biseondae Rock.
The trail can be undertaken any time of the day, be it morning, afternoon or evening.
There are very limited rest points along this trail as compared to the Biryong trail.

If you take this trail, which is marked as Easy on the map, you will cross the river and arrive at Biseondae Rocks.
These are really crags and if energetic, and properly equiped, you may continue on to crag-hopping.
Beware that the weather can change bad but there are park rangers to advise you.
Not spectacular like the Chilean Andes but still worth at least a look!
Do understand that this "attraction" is part of the vast and impressive Seoraksan National Park and there are are other trails, waterfalls and even a cable car.

I did the loop hike along the mountain ridge that starts at Bisondae, continues up (up up up - it's mega steep!) to the top, then climb/scramble/hike 5km along the mountain ridge with truly amazing views before descending on the other side, eventually leading you back to Bisondae. It was an absolute trip highlight - but don't take this hike lightly! It requires full-body fitness and a health relationship with heights...

Hi, I am planning a visit to Mount Seoraksan with 2 kids in early Dec. Travelling with a coach tour, and will have about 3hrs or so there. Considering it is winter, would Biseondae or Bryong Falls be more suitable for a 2-3hr return walk (with kids)? Which is more scenic? Thank you
