Our multilingual PADI instructors teach courses from beginner to instructor. There are a multitude of beautiful dive sites and calm, clear conditions almost every day! Want to snorkel? We offer snorkeling excursions every afternoon. An aquatic adventure for the whole family! Private charters for that very special occasion can be arranged, groups can be accommodated. Upscale private trips to Paradise Island are offered to groups of at least 4.

Mike was personable and nice but he brought faulty equipment. My BC wouldn’t inflate when we got in the water. He played around with it back on the boat. When we finally got down he came over and blew into my BC. Then I fought to stay down the entire first dive. The releases weren’t working. Not enjoyable at all. I skipped the second dive. Plus we were supposed to go to a wreck dive. We really could have swam from the shore to the dive spot. Sealife was just okay. Nothing special.

Outstanding! Couldn't have been happier with our diving experience with Mike. Awesome communication all the expertise and experience you want from a local guide. Three days of great weather and lovely dives in Sosua in January 2023. Shoutout to our cappy Danny as well!

I spent my Christmas holidays at Sosua, and got my PADI OW with Northern Coast Diving. A big shout out to Mike (owner) and the coach (Wellington)!!! They are very generous and patient people and super responsible. I connected with Mike 1 month before my trip. He explained every little detail to me, and even showed me pics and videos of the marine life. When I start my lesson, they always makesure the weather is nice and I am correctly equipped. After getting my license, my boyfriend and me did two recreational dives with Mike. Mike brought us to two great dive spots, and he was trying his best to find us amazing marine creatures.
To me, this is truly fascinating experience. This experience saves me from hydrophobia.
For those who are going to Sosua for diving or PADI license, I highly recommend this dive shop!

At Doulos Discovery school in Jarabacoa, 8th grade students get to learn about the wondrous sea life around the Dominican Republic. Mike and his crew gave us an exceptional up close and personal tour for 20 of our students to get a better understanding. The trip was a perfect fieldwork experience! Students loved getting to see all of the fish and Coral! Thank you Mike for your expertise!

Due to Corona the shop is closed currently.
We contacted Mike via eMail from the website.
The snorkling tour was a pure joy and was not all done in a rush. We both enjoyed the sealife relaxed and with many additional information given.
We think Mike offers the best underwater tours. We can absolutley recommend Mike/northerncoastdiving.

Mike was wonderful! He is a great divemaster, being calm, patient, safe, informative, and great at pointing out cool finds underwater (we saw one of the largest crabs I've ever seen, lots of cool fish, a ray, and an eel. He is also great in helping you out of the water too, with lots of good local recommendations. We shared a beer with him after our dive and his life story is incredible. Highly recommend getting to know Mike better if you have the chance.

I completed the e-Learning and confined water portions of my PADI Open Water Diver certification course in the US. I was going on a trip to Puerto Plata, DR and decided at the last minute to look for a referral dive to finish my certification! I found Northern Coast Diving after some searching on the PADI website and other Google searches. I ended up putting in an email info request form and got in contact with the owner, Michael. He was in contact with me through the whole process from then on out, always available to answer any question I had along the way. I split my dives into two different days, and we left on a boat from Sosua Beach to some different dive sites each day. My instructor, Wellington, was very helpful and great at what he does! He made sure I was comfortable but also challenged me to complete all the necessary skills I needed for my certification. My friend, who was already certified, came along with us and took videos on his GoPro, making sure to stay within view of Wellington. We paid a little extra to rent any equipment we needed - dive kit, wet suit, fins, mask/snorkel if needed. They also supplied us with bottled water for while we were on the boat. We saw beautiful coral, fish, and lots of other ocean life during our dives. I would recommend everyone to dive with Northern Coast Diving!!

Had many reservations about scuba diving as i has not been scuba diving since my certification in the freezing waters of California seven months ago! Mike was not only extremely knowledgeable, but also very patient while I got re-acclimated with the equipment. He brought the wetsuits and all other gear for us and it was all very well managed. He is also a very helpful person with a relaxed, funny personality! We can’t wait to go back! He made this a great adventure !

Had a great time diving with Mike and his crew in Sosua. Everything was catered to me during the dives. It was nice to not have to lug around heavy tanks and after the first dive to relax in the boat instead of getting other gear situated. We saw a ton of wildlife like eels, lobster, squid, crabs, shrimp, and tons of different species of coral and fish. I am an advanced certified diver but I was still able to learn a few things from Mike. He is a very knowledgeable diver with lots of experience and very friendly. Definitely recommend.

I was looking for a place to get my diving certification and Northern Coast Diving was recommended to me by a friend who is a experienced diver. The owner Mike and the dive instructor Willington were very professional. I had a problem equalizing my ears but with the help of these guys i was able to complete the certification with confidence. If you have any fears and you need a staff to take your time with you this is the place I truly recommend.

Thanks for your inquiry! The transportation options are tourist taxi($25) or shared public taxi($2). You can call us to let us know when you want to snorkel 809-571-1028 Snorkeling tours meet at our shop 12:30pm daily.

Can you pick us up at VH GRAN VENTANA hotel? We were going to book with Dressel, but they are too expensive! Can you beat their price? $115 per 2-tank dive with rental & pick up? We want a total of 4 2-tank dives & a snorkel trip for 2 during our stay February 12-19 2017. Please advise. Thanks. Pam

Thanks for your inquiry! We are located in the town of Sosua sume 24 kilometers from your resort. Round trip service from the local taxi mafia is $ 50 USD. You could save money by using the public taxi on the main road at just over a dollar each way to get here. A 4 dive pack per diver with rental gear runs $ 200 USD per diver. A 2 reef snorkeling trip with gear and guide runs just $ 45 USD per. To reserve, please use the reservation form from our web page under the contact us button.
