Come experience a spectacular mountaintop setting with breathtaking panoramic scenery atop 2,681-foot Rich Mountain, Arkansas's second highest peak. Queen Wilhelmina State Park is one of the 52 state parks administered by the State Parks Division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. Queen Wilhelmina is one of the state park system's eight mountain state parks. Queen Wilhelmina State Park's Lodge is one of the four hotel-like lodges in the Arkansas state park system. The others are historic Mather Lodge at Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton, DeGray Lake Resort State Park Lodge near Arkadelphia, and The Lodge at Mount Magazine in Mount Magazine State Park near Paris.

In addition to the lodge, the 460-acre park includes a campground with 41 campsites and a bathhouse; picnic areas; trails; and a seasonal miniature train and mini-golf course. Park interpretive programs highlight Rich Mountain’s fauna and unique flora.

The park is on Ark. 88 (Talimena National Scenic Byway) 13 miles west of Mena. [For an alternate route from Mena or during inclement weather, go six miles north on U.S. 71, then travel nine miles west on U.S. 270, then go two miles south up Ark. 272.]

The park part was closed down when we arrived. No train or anything. Not sure if this is the norm? The main lodge part was open and inviting

We were first time visitors enjoying a three day stay at the Lodge atop Rich Mountain. We found this time of year to be quiet and less crowded. The weather on our first two days was sunny and cool. Our last two days changed to be rainy and totally covered in clouds (foggy) making driving on the very steep &... More

My friend and I started our Arkansas road trip with a drive up the Talimena scenic byway, which was beautiful. We stopped for the day at Queen Wilhelmina state park, and fell in love. It was incredibly beautiful. It was well taken care of, and all the trails were carefully marked. We were a little disappointed the Glory Train was... More

This is an out of the way AR state park, but worth the drive up to it. Beautiful mountain scenery overlooking the Ouchita National Forest. Has a miniature train, gift shop and RV camping.

Beautiful place to visit. By all means, do the Talimena Trail. They have a beautiful lodge here with great rooms and views of the mountains.

Stopped by to see the lodge since it has recently reopened. We wanted to stay there on our trip but they are booked up 2 years in advance lol. Their rooms are very reasonable.

The entire hotel has recently been renovated. We dropped by for breakfast in the buffet/restaurant. Food and service were good - iced tea was perfect.

Wonderful Drive. I have drove in on bikes in the spring and in the fall. Anytime is a good time. Can be a short ride just up to the lodge or a longer ride all the way across to Oklahoma. Local Motel, Limetree Inn has information on the state park and the drive or there is a visitor center just... More

We went on several hikes while here and enjoyed all of them. The trees hadn't changed color too much, but it is still a beautiful park. We rode the small train...it's called the Glory Train...and it was actually fun! Lots of bikers up there, but all of them were very friendly!

The views will take your breath away. However our tent literally collapsed due to the high winds. Maybe we just got bad weather.

Thank Robert R
