Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very cool experience! Our guide Allu (+62085240488671) was great. He welcomed us into his home for tea and helped arrange a tour of the floating village. We spent the afternoon eating mindblowingly good fried bananas and watching the birds. Highly recommend!

I always took my friend to this lake. various opinions from them. Not bad, good, nice, great, and wanna stay in the like. I read some bad reviews about this lake. Doesnt like because of the price, tourism perpetrator, or expectations that are not as expected and so forth. First i will discussed the price. I was saddened by the unevenness price by each boatman that in fact one of the perpetrators of tourism. Raise prices up to three times of the normal price. The tourism department has been trying to suppress such fraudulent practices. hopefully no longer in the future. FYI if u are tourist u can ask 150k(include entrance fee) per boat(1-5 with boatman).

Next i talk about expectation. All of people are different. If u are a nature lovers, i promise u a wonderful expectation. If you are not a nature lovers i just can say no :)

For hotels, so many hotel in my hometown. Such as Hotel Eka(swimming pool), hotel ayu, BBC hotel, sermany hotel. But u can spending night in the floating houses too. Just ask for the cheapest price :) never give up never surrnder to bargain :D

Restaurant too. There are lesehan jetpur and glory catering. Both of i choose glory because the taste so yummii, not too crowded, and not pricy :D

And last but not least, if u wanna meet up or ask something about tempe lake or about my hometown feel free to send me message in my WA 085398673383 or Line @emiibakrii

The usual package is a boat tour in the lake, and have coffee and fried banana fritters (pisang goreng) in one of the local floating houses, but we went a mile ahead to overnight at the house (request from your guide!) and this is the best decision made!
We were staying with Aldi's family whom owns some speed boats. The house is small with only 1 bedroom, but wait, it is for the owners. We ate and slept in the living room.
The local people usually use the lake water to bath, wash, cook and drink. But the family is good enough to prepare some mineral water for us. The toilet is open air and human waste is disposed directly into the lake.
You have to come here once to experience this!

Yes, it is nice to see lots of palm trees in a lake, the lake is quite large, so it’s a long tour on the boat (you could get wet during the tour, no roof when it is raining, although it is fair to say we were offered a raincoat), but there is not much more to see, a bit of village life in a lake, but you could see this on the river of Sengkang by walking around. Would say it is not worthwhile travelling there just to see the lake

Everything was nice, from the trip, to the visit of a waterhome and the silence, as the route through the waterflowers.

On the way from senkang center to some floating houses on the lake, you can see a large variaty of birds. The floating houses are very nice to visit. We ate some nice pisang goreng there, and on the way back to Senkang, you can experience a beautiful sunset,

We were a group of 8 plus guide that went with motored canoes down Walanae River to Tempe Lake. It was a cool and refreshing ride. I loved the mosque built on the water as well as all the stilt houses along the river. There were several birds to observe on the water. At the Tempe Lake we visited a floating village. Our guide arrange to have tea and banana fritters in one of the homes. It was soothing and calm to be away from the city. On the return trip we were treated to a colorful sunset. It was a big treat to be able to do this canoe ride. I highly recommend it.

Many opportunities to picture birds during the boat trip, also children rowing and playing in the river at Sengkang, but I do not enjoy peeping at the daily life of the landless people pushed out to live in floating houses, to call them somehow, although I understand they do this for supplementing their incomes, which we aere happy to collaborate to.

Ask your hotel staff if they can arrange a local fishermen with a boat to bring you to this incredible big lake. Will cost around 13-16 EUR plus small tip in case your captain is nice. Coffee, Tea and fried bananas in a floating House if you want, don't be shy! Incrdeible large floating gardens for vegetables. Very nice People in the alle ans in town! In Case you like birds I recommend to take more time on the lake as we saw ~15 different birds without a focus on it.
