I visited this weekend Unirea Salt Mine from Slanic Prahova. It is not the first time and is nice to see that the mine is improved since last visit. There are more activities to do around, in special for kids. I will go back next...More

The access in the mine is done by some very old small buses, extremely rusty but at the same level with the mine. The exit from the mine is not organized, buses are coming from time to time and the fastest clients take it. You...More

The access in to the mine is done by two elevators that make the transport of the visitors possible. The way down with the elevator is 208 meters long and it lasts almost 3 minutes. The humidity of the air is circa 50% and the...More

Be prepared. Buy yourself a picnic and bring some warm clothes (even in the height of summer as its 12 degrees in the more), and brace yourself to queue and then be bumped down into the mine in a nonsense old minibus. But it is...More

The place itself is impressing - if you never saw a salt mine before. The problems are, unfortunately, many. You have to pay (about 2 €) for the dusty (or muddy, depending on the weather) parking. Long dusty (or muddy) walk to the "entrance" and...More
