I usually visit the dam from the Oakley Street entrance. This has a good path but is quite steep in places. The path passes through many areas of native bush. There are lots of bird life to be heard.

Always good to hear the different types of birds around.Lovely walk to do as long as the ground isn't to wet.Good for beginners.

Its a great weekend activity, not too hard, nice to do alone or with others. Very safe environment. A few birds to see, lots of native tress and bush. Talk good walking shoes if ground is wet.

Great place to either walk approx 45 mins very easy grade or mountain bike ride easy grade. great place to go to for a picnic.

Walk here frequently. Excellent for taking your dog (must be on lead). Easy walk down to dam and steady climb back up. Lots of native Bush to protect you from the sun. Lots of bird life to hear and see - tui, piwakawaka , kereru...More

I run this track often and it is GREAT. But people also walk and Mountain Bike. Of all th tracks around here this is my fav.
