Hiking in took us 30 minutes, at a fairly good pace. Hiking out was a little tougher, mostly uphill. I wore my regular athletic shoes and I was fine. We enjoyed it very much.

Heard lots of great things about this hike so we just had to check it out. Not a long one, about 1.8 miles to the crag (out and back = 3.6 miles). Not too much climbing; it’s mostly a straight walk with most of the...More

We took our teenage kids and our 7 year old for a day trip, hiking, site seeing outing. We drove and drove, down dirt roads with little to no cell phone service, thinking we were surely not going the correct way. All of a sudden...More

The hike out to the point was really pretty. Lots of cedar trees, lizards, and poison ivy. My husband and I brought back that souvenir 😬

Our family (including children aged 8 and 11) hiked Whitaker Point trail this week. The trail was moderate difficulty with several high-level portions. The view is amazing and worth the 1.5 mile hike each way. We hiked on a Monday late morning and encountered a...More

In terms of hiking, this wasn’t a difficult hike by any stretch. There were plenty of other ‘trail’ goers including the slow, those with animals, children and the ‘not very active’ types. However, it maintained its authentic beauty because no man-made accommodations were implemented. There...More

We made the hike on a Thursday (as I had read it can get very crowded) and found there was ample parking at the trail head and just a handful of folks making the journey. I would say the trail is easy-moderate, mostly because the...More

absolutely beautiful! The drive there and the hike were a little longer than I expected so make sure you use the restroom before hiking! There is not one available there!

Our three and five year old were able to walk the entire way. Enough of a challenge with a great view to sit have a snack, take pictures, and head back. Glad we did it!

This has been on my bucket list for awhile! So glad I got to check it off! First you should know there are no bathrooms anywhere near this place! So hopefully you’ve stopped in Ponca and hopefully something was open (I think the Deli there...More

It wasn’t narrow in terms of one vehicle. It’s more like a country caleche road where two passing vehicles may require one to move over in some spots. I’d say you would be fine in a full sized truck.

You have to hike approx 1 1/2 mikes in to the lookout. It's very worth it!
