- Michelle S1 contributionJolly and friendlyWe visited Santa and the Christmas experience today . Elf’s were very jolly and friendly . My 4 year old enjoyed choosing his own gift which was a nice touch . It was sooooo cold though so more heating needed as it was too cold to enjoy as much .Hello, Thank you so much for your review, we're so pleased you had a nice time visiting us and we hope we will see you all again soon Have a lovely Christmas Best WishesWritten 4 December 2022This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 4 December 2022
- Ilbe_andersNorfolk, United Kingdom91 contributionsChristmas Experience just wasn't what we hoped for.On arriving to Wroxham Barns (a place I had only visited once before nearly 10 years ago) I felt more welcomed than I had previously. Our first timed experience was due to open at 10.30 and it said to be there 15 mins before so we arrived at 10am. We signed in and got our passport and wristbands however when asking for our prepaid animal feed they wanted to charge us. I explained that it was already paid for and it was fine and we moved on. We went for a mooch around the animals before knowing we had to find out where build a teddy was. At 10.15 we queued in a long queue that was let through at just after and realised this queue was for Santa. We were asked to come back in 10 minutes for build a teddy. At this point there weren't many of the other activities open, and a concern was on their signs they all closed at different times for lunch which wasn't explained well. We did try Snow-lympics but there were only my children there so no competition for them. Build a Teddy was a really good experience and I'm pleased I paid the extra for it. Clothes are an extra £11.99. Once we finished this we went back to do the other activities. The wreath making was fab (although not easy even for my 10 and 7 year old). However the writing a letter to santa and the reindeer food took seconds. That's when I regretted my Santa booking for 1.45pm. We had 1.5 hours just to kill after doing all the activities and going to the fun farm and the rides. It was freezing (not getting above 5 celcius). It says all day activity and it isn't. We then finally got our turn to see Santa. Mrs Claus' kitchen was great. Little disappointed Santa was just a photo op and didn't ask what they wanted for Christmas. Also someone had messed up the bookings so there were several families on our list who weren't supposed to be and several families that weren't on the list who were. Us included. It meant they didn't know the special fact about the child and the magic was lost. For future the children should have had names taken when entering and if there was an issue a parent could be pulled to the side and asked. However the toy was great and everyone was accommodating. Just when you spend a lot of money on the Santa experience it really didn't live up to it. I had heard so many amazing things and although the children left happy I left feeling that I didn't quite get my money worth. That, even though we wrapped up, there was no where to get a break from the cold (even the cafe was drafty). I hope you can improve for future visits.Hi Laura, Thank you for your review, I'm sorry you found some of the experiences didn't last as long as you expected, it's a difficult one as we've had lots of visitors who have stayed a full day with us when you factor in partaking in the 6 xmas experiences, meeting the animals on Junior Farm, joining small animal handling, then play on the rides at the fun park, plus having a browse of our 12 independent shops. It's great to hear your children had a nice time, and we will bring your comments to our weekly review meeting to ensure we're offering the best experience we can, so thank you very much and we hope we will see you again soon! - Amanda P1 contributionDisappointedI took my two adult children and six year old grandson to visit Wroxham Barns Christmas Experience yesterday after reading the glowing reports. It’s certainly not the cheapest Santa visit costing almost £100 but I figured it was worth it,going by the advertisement it looked to be a fun day! The weather wasn’t on our side being bitterly cold but we wrapped up warm and as the events would be mostly heated and inside it wouldn’t be an issue… The opening times for each event was sent by email, well done organisers, what it failed to tell us and other people we spoke to on the day that each event would be closed at different times throughout the day leaving us wandering around in the freezing cold trying to find somewhere warm to wait. The queues were long as everyone stood outside waiting for things to reopen. The elf workshop was disappointing, a bag of bits given to us as we entered with instructions left on the table to wrap and decorate a wreath that the adults struggled with and was impossible for a small child to manage! My grandson was also upset that Santa didn’t give him a present, a coin to spend in the shop didn’t impress him and left him upset and confused. I understand the children get something they are more likely to want and saves someone wrapping the gifts but it’s not quite the same. The idea of the experience is good but quite honestly it didn’t meet expectations and in our opinion really not worth the money, we certainly won’t be returningHello, Thank you for visiting and for your review, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your day with us, your feedback does seem to go against all the other overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received for the experience so far. But, we are ever learning and striving to improve, we will use your feedback in our Christmas debrief early in new year, to see how we can shape and improve the 2023 experience, so rest assured your feedback is appreciated and heard. We hope you have a lovely ChristmasWritten 19 December 2022This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 18 December 2022
- Mandy D1 contributionSanta experience and Wroxham cafeSanta experience was very good and we had a fun packed time… we had lunch at the cafe just as you enter Wroxham barns. This was not such a good experience. My daughter asked for cheese and beans with a jacket potato. They didn’t tell us they didn’t have beans they just charged for two lots of cheese instead. She didn’t want to cause a fuss, I could not see their logic…Also it was the worst coffee she had ever tasted. I had a vegan pastry nothing special for the price. The girl was pleasant but her false nails were so long she had trouble working in them. The other lady just sat watching on. Not very professional. Could do with abit of training maybe… I’ve been visiting Wroxham Barns since my children were small now I’m with my grandchildren…don’t usually go to the cafe, more the restaurant. Now I know why! Well done Santa experience. We all really enjoyed, plus everything included…Hello, Thank you for your review, so pleased you had a nice visit. - Stuart J1 contributionAverage experience at best. It’s well organised, and clean. Basic needs are met. Many of the pens/paddocks had no animals in, and of course no fowl due to bird flu restrictions. Just glad that we visited on special offer tickets, because would have been very fed up paying full price. Out of season, week day, there was not enough to keep a four year old entertained for more than an hour. No den building (materials but no leader), no play park (closed weekdays) and heating not on in the heated marquee. Worth £5 a head and a half hour drive, not worth more than that.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 February 2023
- Cazaholic691 contributionFamily afternoon tea.Arrived early but were promptly seated. Had afternoon tea for 3 my sisters and mum and myself.the spread was lovely. I ordered soup and cheese sarnis as can't have certain foods, soup was to peppery so couldn't eat. Lady waitress was lovely about it and was offered a replacement. The hot chocolate drinks were very nice and my decaffe Mocha was also lovely. Thank you for a pleasant afternoon.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 February 2023
- ghockley1981Woodham Ferrers, United Kingdom1,276 contributionsFeeding animals and kids amusement Park rides. Perfect time out for little onesCertainly worth a visit, lots to do when it's a nice day and you make use of the rides and see the animals. Our little girl loves feeding animals so this was our main aim. Sheep, goats, donkeys, Guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs were great to see. Seeing all the recently born lambs was special. 4 rides for small children after this let our girl enjoy herself for a another hour along with mini golf and then we walked around the local shops there before. More expensive than other animal parks but the inclided rides obviously make it make sense after. A 3 hour trip is plenty to do everything unless you stop for lunch.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 February 2023
- Claire K2 contributionsGreat farm visit, with soft play & rides.I had a lovely few hours with my grandson and a friend with her grandson (both around 18 months) at Wroxham Barns today. There were a good selection of animals to see, hear and stroke. The soft play area was great during the drizzle and we enjoyed a ride on the train. There were picnic benches so we could eat our lunch and plenty of wash stations to clean our hands first. We will be back later in the spring. The baby change/disabled toilets could do with updating. There were no straps on the changing table - thankfully my grandson is fairly compliant but I might have struggled. The switches on the heater were also very accessible for little fingers. Otherwise, a fabulous amenity which I visited regularly with my daughters 25+ years ago - long may it last.Visited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 1 March 2023
- Stuart B1 contributionEnjoyable day for allLive locally and have 2 young granddaughters. The Farm and Fun Park has proven a popular treat when they visit. and it provides plenty to do to keep them entertained for hours. The staff are well chosen and are polite and patient with the young children.Visited March 2023Written 1 April 2023
- Kenzie A1 contributionDay out on the farm.Went for the day and really enjoyed it. Animals really well kept and polite staff. Just wish we could have had a little longer on the handling sessions. But altogether a really good experience however, some of the prices for food and entry are a little expensive. But recommend :) shops are also really good.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 April 2023

Had a Christmas tea to celebrate our 56th wedding anniversary, and it was brilliant. Lovely friendly staff, wonderful food and pleasant atmosphere. No complaints at all - only a suggestion. It would suit us better if we could have had the tea in the morning, which wasn't an option.

I took my 4 year old and 6 year old to the Christmas Experience this weekend, and my goodness what a perfectly festive day we all had! The whole place was decked out with twinkling lights, snow covered Christmas trees and plenty of gorgeous decorations. From the moment we entered, the children were greeted by friendly and hilarious elves who kept them entertained throughout each activity they participated in. The look of wonder on my children's faces as they walked around the site is one I'll never forget. Everyone we encountered - from the elves, the staff in the cafe, the lovely lady in the gift shop and of course, Santa himself- was friendly, welcoming and cheerful. I have to give a special mention to the two young men operating the rides on the funfair - thank you for being so friendly, helpful and kind. As the sun went down, the atmosphere was absolutely perfect - it felt like we were in Lapland. What a truly memorable day!

Day out with grandchildren what a wonderful day spent absorbing the Christmas Experience seeing the grandchildren getting engaged into the whole thing.
From the ride on the Polar Express to See Santa which lit up their faces the great choice of presents which allow the Children to become more part of the Xmas feel
Then to have a lovely lunch and on to the Show making gingerbread men which were soon devoured…
Sending letters to Santa and making great grandma a wreath which was given with excitement .
The whole experience very seasonally decorated and each adventure evolving into making the day . A big thank you to Mrs Christmas, Santa and all the elves .

Booked for my daughter and grandson to go to Wroxham Barns to see Santa - had a great time there was so much to do and lots of lovely elves helping you through an amazing experience - lovely food and great when moving from experience to experience - I would say the only thing that let you down a little was the rides because there was only one person on all of these and only able to do one ride at a time - would definitely recommend this time families with toddlers Santa was amazing and made it very personal and enjoyable.

My husband and myself . Grandson, his wife and 1month old great grandson went. It was a fantastic day. What a nice way for the children to meet Santa and then he reads a lovely story to them. Santa's gift is a lovely way for children to choose there own. Mrs Clause was great in her kitchen, and the children loved making gingerbread . All in all in was a great day.

We went to the Christmas Experience and honestly, despite the fickle weather, it was fantastic and well worth every penny.
The whole experience from start to finish really was magical for my two year old. It was really carefully thought out and we spent 5 hours there without getting in the slightest bit bored. There was so much to do and all of it was great fun and really Christmassy!
Would definitely go again.

Yes, but there are areas where dogs are not allowed. The mini-farm is one of those areas, and the children's play area is another.

Hello By way of introduction I am Ian Russell, owner of Wroxham Barns (since 1982). The distance from the junction of Tunstead Road/Station Road to Wroxham Barns is 1.37 miles. You can walk to this junction from Roys or the station in 5 mins. To clarify there is a made up tarmac pathway from Wroxham for 3/4 mile, then a short 100 yards on a grass verge, then you can join our own safe pathway protected by a large hedge from the roadway (no need to walk on the road). Any problems please do call us on 01603 783762 or email us

What type of ciders are available and are prices good? X
Colin A
Norfolk, UK46 contributions
There are a number of locally brewed ciders, the tastes differ according to the apples, but they are far better than bulk standard supermarket ciders. Superior products obviously command a higher price, but given the quality and variety, the prices are not exorbitant.
