If you are lover of history and structure, you would certainly like it. Beautiful mosque made with red stone by Bhopal's rulers.
Go early morning or else road would be crowded enough. No cars, only two wheelers can reach.
Enjoy 'Chowk' market around it , heart of old city. Mosque is surrounded by gold & cloth market. Take a walk from Ibrahimpura to Jama masjid to get the essence of old Bhopal

First let me tell you that Jama Masjid and Taj-ul-Masjid are two different mosques, Most of the People think they are same, Jama Masjid is at Chawk Baazar and Taj-ul-Masjid is at Kohefiza. The most distinguished feature of Jama Masjid is the two massive minarets crowned by gold spikes and three bulbous cupolas. The interior is adorned with white columned arches and a marble sanctum. There is also a small pond used by worshippers for performing ablution. A visit to Jama Masjid offers complete peace and harmony.

Jama Masjid Bhopal, is a great and beautiful gift to the city dwellers, by the first lady ruler Qudsiya Begum who was very brave and extremly generous. This mosque is situated in the heart if the city known as chowk and surrounded by beautiful markets. This mosque is easily accessible by four major roads from all the four directions. This mosque was built in 1837 and now a great religious centre.
Its architecture is Islamic and interior is richly carved and decorated. It has three entrances and all are spectacular. Mosque is built on an elevated platform. The complete mosque's architecture irrespective of exterior and interior is simple but extremely magnificent. An ablution hauz just at the left side of the eastern gate and at the right taps and toilets. Its minarets are just symbolic and tops are having the Golden Kalash. Three domes and their design is quite attractive and all are having the Golden Kalash visitors just get mesmerised by the sparkling of these Gold's Kalash. It is an out standing monument which symbolises the Islamic architecture. The western wall and member from where the Imam delivers the sermon on congregational prayers are just excellent. Courtyard is open and having an are about 480 sq mtrs. Red stone is used in whole structure and the member is of marble.
Having massive value as a heavenly place of worship, this mosque is visited everyday five times by the devotees and believers and on congregational prayers are attended by thousands of believers. This mosque is open for everyone and can be visited during the day. After visiting the mosque very close to the eastern gate is Chintaman Chauraha famous for delicious chaats and sweets. For Vegetarians there are many restaurants like Agarwal Pudi Bhandar, Hotel Shikha etc and Non vegetarians there are many options for tasty mughlai dishes like Odean, Afghan, Jameel etc.
Nearby visiting places are Moti Masjid, Gauhar Mahal, Shri Shiv Mandir, Upper Lake, Rani Mahal etc. It offers an unmatched harmony of the antiquated world attraction and modern day cosmopolitan life and Jama Masjid has significant value among all the monuments.

Went to visit in the morning. Enough parking space. Saw young children and teenagers memorising the Quran inside the Mosque. On one side are the classrooms where students are taught the basics of Quran and languages like Persian, Arabic and English. Had an enlightening conversation with a Teacher about rights of Muslim women in the past era and now.

I visited this mosque which is centrally located near Chowk Bazar a couple of days back. Constructed in the 1600's it is a Deobandi Mosque and has three beautiful domes and two very tall minarets. Very well maintained it has some really nice carvings on its walls. Overall a a nice and peaceful place of worship just adjacent to the chaotic Chowk Bazar.

Did not go inside the masjid but admire the huge structure from outside. The two massive minarets are very impressive and can be watched from afar. It is built in the year 1937 and still preserved well.
Do not miss seeing this wonderful piece of art.
