I was not sure about this attraction. 15 euros seemed a lot for a visit to the Geysir centre and then a short river boat ride to the hole in the ground. Well I was so VERY wrong. The centre was very informative and at one point we were 4000 metres underground (virtually of course). The eruption of the geyser... More

We were on a school tour of Germany and drove all the way from Aachen to Andernach to visit the Geysir. The trip was well worth the effort. Not sure that the kids appreciated what they where actually able to witness, but as geography teachers this was amazing. The visit takes a while, so you need to factor a good... More

We decided to go here on hottest day of year & had a great time. Geyser cooled kids off & ferry offered a chance to experience Rhine from another perspective at a very reasonable price. The exhibt was very cool (tonnes of English translations.... You cant expect to have more in a German attraction I think) Loads of experiments for... More

Went on a very hot summer day, which helped. Easy 10 minute walk from Andernach railway station. Museum is technologically quite impressive, and good explanation signboards also in English; but a lot of good AV material too and half or more of it had no English subtitles or version at all. Quite a shame for international visitors. Boat trip nice... More

The visis consists of 3 parts,The museum, the boat trip and the actual Gyser visit. The museum is nice an informative. They make an effort in making it interactive, educational and something of an experience (the elevator actually goes....i'm not spoiling) The boat trip is very, very slow an even makes an additional stop (nobody knows why). and they end... We arrived with no expectations but wanted to stay longer. The smaller of the two geysir was blowing 10 meters in the air at least every 5 minster.

Really great to see which power the nature has. We walked through the center that is attached to the attraction in 45 minutes, didn't think it was to good, but the Geysir itself was really worth visiting!

Firstly the museum and tour are ridiculously hard to get to unless you are on a bus. Secondly we were told it would be over 3 hours before we would see a geyser. Thirdly we left. It is easier for us to see Old Faithful than this geyser - so be warned it is NOT self guided.

A museum, a short passage on a ship and an impressive geysir make a fine combination. The museum has some activities for little children like drilling holes in stones. Pumping water makes a spectacular geysir effect. Good for 30-45 minutes. The ship is always a success with children and the geysir is spectacular. the geysir visit takes about 1,5 hr.... More
