One of the great visitor attractions in County Wexford....

Fanned by flames of Revolution in America and France, the events of 1798 in Ireland are etched forever on the annals of Irish history.

Vividly re-told in an exciting interpretation of events the "Rebellion Experience" at The National 1798 Rebellion Centre is not to be missed.

On your visit you will learn in gruesome detail how some 20,000 insurgents faced the might of 10,000 well-trained and well-armed Crown Forces, and learn the significance of the nearby Vinegar Hill Battlefield.

Visited this location while on holiday in Ireland and found it to be well laid out and very informative. The most striking part of the tour was the recreation of the actual battle which, it would appear, was fought at night. Very realistic and not for the faint hearted. Well worth the 4 euros we were changed for admission.

We visited with our 5 year old. At the desk the guy was very helpful and told us that the battle scenes were loud and dark and may not be suitable for her. The whole thing was well laid out and very interesting. Especially loved the dress up at the end. The gentleman at the desk was correct the battle... More

This exhibit was excellent. I learned more than I thought I knew. The lady at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. Later I enjoyed a steaming cup of tea and a delicious sandwich from the café. I plan to go back to visit again when next in Enniscorthy.

Myself and my husband came upon this centre by accident (so glad we did). I don't want to give too much away as I don't want to spoil the experience. Adults and children alike will enjoy being "transported" back to 1798 rebellion and the battle on Vinegar Hill. The historians and staff are to be commended for the fantastic work... More

This building told the story of the rebellion of 1798 which culminated on vinegar hill. It was quite interesting with both audio and visual appliances. It was quite large and took awhile to get through f you gave it your all. Being from Newfoundland I found it interesting that the last area told of how this impacted Ireland and Newfoundland.... This place is amazing. very interesting and informative. And judging by the reactions of the 2 kids who were there at the same time as us, kids love it! I thought I knew my Irish history, but I was wrong. Highly recommend!

I am visiting From the states and I was surprised by how much I was able to integrate my US history knowledge with this interactive museum. I enjoyed the learning experience as well as my 13 & 18 sons. They also got a kick out of dressing up as characters and the multi-media movie. It was interesting and the learning... More
