Great building but not quite for me

It was 2 euros to go in and yes it was very lovely inside, nice and cool too, the building really is worth seeing but there was nothing of interest in the exhibits for me. But do go, its worth the small entrance fee if you are solo or couple. I dont think I would part with entry for a... More

And at 2Euros entry worth it. OK the interior is opem with two courtyards and an upstairs gallery. However there were displays of old photos of Garchico from the late C19 and early C20 with Spanish/ English texts; upstairs and excellent art exhibition by a talented pen and ink artist of local buildings etc, a small collection of shells/ minerals... Since there are not so many attractions in Garachico this is probably a place you also end up during your visit to this town. Small entrance fee, typical Canarian style building with inside patio (cypresses and grass) and wooden balconies. A few exhibition rooms and conveniently connected city library at the same premises. I like the facade of this building... More

This is an interesting and pleasant building, nice and shaded if it is a hot day. There are geological exhibits, with information on how Garachico was affected by the eruption of 1706, and a display of various mineral rocks from around the world; there is also a display of shells and a few agricultural implements are on show. Upstairs, while... More

For an entrance fee of 2 euros there is a detailed display regarding the volcanic eruptions that have helped shape this little town. It is in Spanish but is pretty self explanatory. There is also an amazing collection of fossils and shells from all over the world. Although labelled in Spanish there are information sheets in English and French. A... More

Well worth the two euros to enter! This is a lovely old convent with internal courtyards and suspended wooded balconies. There are many old and interesting photos from the last 150 years of Canarian history. Not more than 15 minutes to take in the lot, but well worth doing. Pretty, but not much else going on inside. Probably not that... More

Art, and volcano exhibitions (in Spanish only) to look at beside an old building, just 2 euros to enter, worth looking into whilst in the town square.

This place is actually a lot more interesting than it may appear at first sight. There is a display which shows the history of the volcanic eruptions that have made the town what it is today. There were also some interesting sculptures on display during our visit - and it is a nice building to boot, all for just €2... More

We wouldn't come here just to see this convent of San Francisco. But while you are in Garachico you can pay it a visit, the entrance fee is 2€ per adult. These are the oldest buildings, with filigreed stone floors and wooden cloister. Today the convent hosts the cultural center of Garachico, displaying some sculptures. One room educates about the... Wonderful display of pictures and history of Carachico, and the aftermath of the volcanic eruption. Peaceful quadrangle and evocative of its past history.
