Came to Garachico around 2 p.m. First we walked around the city - pretty, small town was also decorated in honor of the saint. Beautiful views, lots of interesting photo spots. Then they went back to the parking lot, changed and went swimming. Parking is quite large, but the place is not easy to find, the town is very popular. Admission to the lava pools is free. You can go down the stairs and swim where deep, and there's a place where even children can go - waist-deep, but the bottom is rocky and it's better to have corals. There are no beds, people sit on towels, but space is scarce, so most bathe and leave. There is also the usual quite large swimming pool on the beach, there is an entrance fee, there are sunbeds, but there are also many people. Opposite the café with delicious Italian ice cream, highly recommended, but choosing will not be easy. Anyway, Garachiko can safely claim a few hours of your attention, a very nice Canarian town.

Snorkeling is really fantastic there. Lots of small and large colorful fish.
There are enough places to lie down, but it gets very crowded around midday. Lots of people come there to swim in the natural pools.
The local restaurant is highly recommended. The staff are very friendly and the food is really delicious. We highly recommend the calamari fettuccine.

We wanted to come a second time, but it was closed due to high waves. But the weather isn't to blame - in our case it was the super moon that caused the high waves.

Apart from that, a must for every vacationer to visit this beautiful place.

Garachico is a place to go and stay a few days because the natural pools I am sure will captivate you
The climate there is milder
The ocean offers enchanting sunsets on the horizon and is accessible by accessing ladders
Very romantic
They are swimming pools that children also like
There is also a bar restaurant offering interesting culinary proposals

Unfortunately, an information of actual times is nowhere to be found. We came here to swim as good weather was predicted foolishly thinking the area is opened all year round. Well let me tell you it opens on 23rd of June and remains opened only for a couple of months. Many travelers (including ourselves) visited the place, however, swimming is not allowed. The place was packed in January so I am only guessing how busy it can be in summer time. Definitely a great place to swim with a few pools not affected by the waves. Plenty of crabs and fishes too!

That is, you had to enter from a passage next to the pool because the main entrance is closed. Then there is the concrete walkway which is disgusting. To forget
Anyway they swim everywhere there but the day was windy and no one was in the tubs. There is a large car park at the entrance to the town, then the road is internal so you don't breathe in car exhaust fumes. There is a park in the main square that is small but super cool, you don't expect it and it is very well looked after.

We visited this December and the pools were closed for safety reasons as the tide was swelling and you would be smashed against the sharp lava rocks.
We were able to walk along the walkways and view the area which is worth seeing anyway. It would have been great to swim here in calmer times.

It is a wonderful and charming place.
The fusion of the arbitrariness of the lava, the force of the sea and the modern and environmentally responsible design is wonderful.
Visiting it is a pleasure, exploring it is a discovery, and if you can and/or want to bathe, it is majestic.

Nature creates wonderful environments and places like this. Your visit is not always available, you have to confirm opening season and good weather conditions. If everything is optimal you will enjoy a unique place.

All advertising for Garachico talks about the natural pools - but not that they are only open June-September. (And the public swimming pool is also closed.) So you can look, but cannot even lie out on the rocks, let alone swim. Perhaps one should stop seeing Tenerife as a winter destination. Why not be upfront about this?

When visiting the North of Tenerife Island, you have to keep in mind that it is very important to see the weather if you really want to enjoy a good swim. Otherwise, you can see the pools and views, but not bathe.

We visited the El Caleton and El Charco de los Chochos Natural Pools and could not swim because of the unpredictable weather in the north of the island. But they're worth seeing at least.
