Part of the medieval history of Spain and the Spanish catholic church. Stunning how a beautiful and quaint town could harbor such terror and horror to torture its own citizens. Quite a contrast and worth observing.

We visited this museum on a trip to this lovely town. A look mainly at torture equipment from the past and more shockingly some (not in the museum) still in use.

It’s called the museum of the inquisition but it’s not really hat at all. Come if you want to find many instruments of torture displayed and their use described in fairly minute detail. But there was literally nothing about the inquisition - what led to...More

The exhibits are well done. Interesting comments about some tortures currently in use in the world. The museum was open when everything else was closed. Worth a visit.

Well worth a visit...a bit like the one in Prague but a bit bigger as i recall. On the positive side it’s great that we weren’t born too early where these things seemed to have been commonplace. However I cannot understand taking 5 year olds....More

Very professional, very detailed and clear explanations and illustrations - but definitely for the people that are feeling too good with the beauty of the area and need to spoil their mood. For me first 5 minutes were enough.

I’m glad I wasn’t around hundreds of years ago, my big mouth would surely have seen me meet with a terrible fate. This place bears testimony to a dark period in humanity and features crude torture devices designed to inflict and prolong maximum suffering. Beyond...More

Very interesting - whilst the pictures are drawings, they are quite graphic & coupled up with the description of how the pain was inflicted it can be quite gory!! It was a very interesting couple of hours!! Worth a visit...

I think you went to a different place. I visited this museum two days ago and was operating, complete and very interesting.
