I had a great time on the lake with Leigh. He was full of information and a very skilled kayaker. I felt well guided/instructed. The equipment was good and I was well looked after. Highly recommended.

My husband, 11 and 14 years old children and I had the most amazing time kayaking with Leigh this week. Everything was nicely prepared for us when we arrived:.dry Kayaks, buoyancy aid/ safety jackets, gloves, waterproof jackets and trousers in case we hadn’t brought ours. Everything was there. He then explain in a very clear way the basics of security, safety and kayaking. We were impressed by the beauty of Ullswater and its stunning dramatic automnal setting. Leigh guided us on the waters while giving us very interesting information and facts. He had also organised some funny games that kept us adults and children entertained. Thank you Leigh for this unforgettable experience and family memories.

Enjoyed a fantastic few hours kayaking on Ullswater with my very good friend and with Leigh who is Tall Bloke Adventures. We enjoyed every minute of this experience. Leigh was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and a great all round Tall Bloke. Safety and comfort were his priorities. We learnt kayaking skills and loved the location. Loved that it was so personal, just my friend and I in one Kayak and Leigh in his, guiding us along. Leigh was happy to take photos and managed to capture the rainbow before the heavens opened. Can thoroughly recommend this, great value for money.

I booked this kayaking experience for my girlfriend as a birthday present as it is something she'd always wanted to do. As complete novices' Leigh was great, he explained everything and was amazing patient whilst we (I) got grips with steering. The games he got us playing were a great way to get to grips with things without feeling too "teachy".
Leigh has a great knowledge of the Ullswater area and shared some grat insight with us as he took us around the Lake. His experience really shone through as he taught us about how to spot where the wind was coming from and how to navigate from shelter to shelter.
A bit of a raconteur, Leigh told us some great stories from his time yachting with movie stars and hanging out with the local fell runners. He's a really friendly guy and there was never an awkward silence!
Leigh's warmth, knowledge and experience really made this something special. He even managed to hold the rain off (mostly).

It was our first time Kayaking but Leigh explained everything clearly and put us at ease. We had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. Leigh was very entertaining and while emphasising safety made the experience fun and educational at the same time. We will definitely be Kayaking again in the future hopefully at beautiful Lake Ullswater. The views were amazing.

We had a brilliant morning kayaking on Ullswater, Leigh made sure we were comfortable and well kitted out with essential gear. Had a great paddle around the lake with plenty of guidance and some challenges which were good fun and tested our basic skills. Even got to paddle up the river a little way thanks to the perfect conditions. Highly recommend booking with Leigh who was really great company and sent us some lovely photos too.

Leigh was very professional, knowledgeable and entertaining!
He also managed to keep focused on helping me to improve my kayaking skills, in particular my paddling technique.

Leigh was brilliant. My wife was really apprehensive about Kayaking but Leigh was reassuring and made the adventure great fun. So much so that when we go to Seville next month my wife has booked a kayaking trip.

Never been Kayaking before
Thinking of joining you on Monday 27th March -
Is there a shorter " tester " session, or is only the full day ?
What clothing is required
Would it be a large group ?

Hi Mark, ( apologies if I've I got the wrong name )
Unfortunately we're busy on 27th March. Friday 31st March we have no one if this would suit ?
We don't do shorter taster sessions. Lot's of our guests have never kayaked before.
Clothing : Old trainers that can get wet, socks, tracky bottoms, T-shirt, sweat shirt, waterproof top.
We don't do large groups. Usually one or two people and us. Emphasis is on leisurely paddle, bit of chat, good food and enjoyment of scenery. The boats are designed with beginners in mind. If this appeals please e-mail us and we'll send more details. Any more questions, please feel free to ask.
