The naval museum takes you through the beginning and growth of the Canadian Navy. It is well documented and laid out. The building itself is historical and adds to the authenticity of the displays.

Located inside the Naval Base, it is interesting to see so many artifacts from the old army and navy. Uniforms, medals, models of the war ships and airplanes, older fighting equipment (i.e. depth charges, torpedo).

I am glad some professors take their classes on field trips. Classroom learning can be dry and dull. I liked the displays and the information. However, they need a larger PR marketing budget and facilities expansion.

We had heard about this museum but worried about access given its location inside the Navy Base. This turned out not to be a problem. Showing a photo ID was all that was required at the gate and blue stripes painted on the road led...More

While located in a historic building the museum fails to capture the significance the British/Canadian military presence on Vancouver Island's growth.
