What a place with rolling hills, mountains, beautiful coves and beaches, lochs and friendly people. You have to see it to believe it.

Twisting and turning, up and down, through rocks, lochs, beaches, trees and sheep; this is the most amazing road to drive. Beauty is everywhere. The incredible mountains in the distance are the icing on the whole experience.

Not much stops a teenager in their tracks these days but the views on this road did just that when my son and I rode it on motorbikes. The winding single track road is superb.

A great day driving and birding all around this route. Lots of Black-throated Divers & smaller numbers of red-throats, Bonxies, black guillemots, beautiful scenery, glorious mountain views and we managed to skirt the bad weather over the mainland

As someone who lives and works on this stretch of road in a fragile economy, it does not help when people from outwith the area advise prospective visitors to not attempt this road in anything larger than a 4 door saloon! This road is quite...More

Before writing about the driving and scenery, let me repeat right up front what the signs say along the route, "Do not attempt with vans and campers." With that out of the way, if you are comfortable or better yet enjoy driving narrow, winding, twisting...More

hi Kyle Take the coast route, it's just awesome. Loch Assynt (alongside Quinaig) is beautiful but the coast road beats it every time. The roads fine, just don't go too fast, which you won't want to anyway! I know the area... More
