A beautiful area with gold sandy beaches, stunning views and interesting geology. Be careful as roads are narrow with passing places- be considerate and cautious!

A great wee stop on the NC500; with a fantastic view south across the Kyle, at any time of the tide, to Ben Hope and Ben Loyal. Chances of otters and eagles, although more likely to see eider, twite, linnet and small shorebirds. Always worth...More

We had the most amazing tour from Tongue South past Loch Loyal to Altnaharra and then west on every narrow singletrack road where the passing places were virtually non existent. But all worth it for the magnificence of the mountain scenery.

My favourite place in the UK. Nowhere has better scenery. Make sure of visiting Talmine and walk along the coast from there.

Beautiful scenery - the ride up into the hills gave a glorious view of the area. I must go back to the area to see more.

Although it doesn't seem very exciting, we found doing this very relaxing. Over a couple of fields & a gate, then you're at waters edge. The tide was going out, so it was easy walking. We ambled, more than walked, towards the Causeway that cuts...More

We just came back from a self-guided tour of the Highlands which included 4 nights at an AirBnB in Tongue. It proved to be an excellent choice, conveniently placed between Thurso, John O Groats and the east coast and Durness and the north-west in the...More

A lovely spot to linger at either end of the causeway and take I the views of mountain and sea. We also took the 5 mile detour to the next crossing point and it too was fascinating.
