Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Calum’s boat trips were the highlight of our week long holiday in the Plockton area. As a birthday present for my wife, I booked us on the evening 2 hour cruise and on the 1 hour seal watching cruise on a different day. Both cruises were excellent in different ways and were on different boats, each ideally suited to their task. As other reviewers have said, Calum is a real people person, with a great sense of humour, and is of course extremely knowledgeable about his area and all that lives in it. We cannot recommend him highly enough, and were also given great tips about what else to see and where else to go during our week’s holiday in the area. Our thanks to Calum and his team.

We had booked a 2 pm slot, but we were held up at Urquhart Castle. So, we called to find out if we could shift our appointment and they agreed to accommodate at on the 4 pm trip. We saw so many seals and sea birds. The commentary was well rehearsed, well used, but still humorous.

Well Callum and Chris you are both superstars. We went on the seal trip with our two granddaughters Alexis and Nicole. We were staying in Portree and I wanted the best boat trip for my granddaughters and you certainly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we stepped on your boat on Wednesday 6th April we were treated 1st Class. A warm friendly welcome to everyone aboard there were about 12 people and 2 dogs. After 10 mins we were all. a big happy family. We saw all around Plockton and then we headed out to the seal island. We counted 12 seals and my granddaughters were in heaven especially when they saw a baby pup. The best was yet to come.....Alexus was given the Captain's hat and steered the boat towards the lighthouse laughing and having the greatest fun ever. Then it was Nicole's turn and another girl got a turn. The children were super excited.....but not as much as I was when I got a turn as the captain. My first time steering a hot and it's not as easy as it looks. What a day of fun laughter and seals. Finally, I would like to congratulate Callum and Chris for raising over £29,000 for Marie Curie on their seal. You are amazing gentlemen and I salute you both. Take care and stay safe.

We arrived in Plockton which is a beautiful place and we saw the sign for the boat trips, popped into the shop and put our names down.
Calum and Chris were really good, very funny.
We had fantastic weather and it was so calm which helped but if you go to Plockton dont miss the boat trip.

We didn't have anything booked when we arrived in Plockton, but a quick trip to the website (as their ad suggests, very user friendly!) two adults and a dog were booked in. The trip before ours was delayed, but this was sorted but a phone call to advise us.
Once on board, Calum and Chris were great, laid back and funny, but also really informative. They were especially good with the small and slightly bigger kids (the teenagers were loving being allowed to steer). Definitely recommend - it's free if you don't see a seal! (We did).

This was a last minute decision after a short drive from Broadford to Plockton on 4th October for myself and my parents, thankfully despite the weather we were able to join the sailing.
Calum and Chris were both very friendly and very knowledgeable and told great stories with humour throughout our one hour trip. The weather cleared shortly after we set off and we were able to see seals on the rocks and in the water.
Blankets were provided to keep us cosy and stops were made throughout to explain building, points of interest and other sealife/seabirds along the way. There is also the option on board to buy painted stones and donate to charity.
We were pleased the previous day’s plans on Skye for sailing did not work out as this trip more than made up for it thanks to our hosts being so welcoming. Highly recommend this trip as you will not be disappointed!

This was a great hour of fun with Calum and Chris in a stunning part of Scotland. Despite being the only two people on the boat given Scotland only opened up this week they gave us the full tour including Duncraig castle the beautiful seals, and super views to Skye, all on Lochcarron.
If your in plockton it’s highly recommended, it gives you a great perspective on the water in an amazing part of Scotland.

We recently visited Plockton on our holiday to the west coast of Scotland, we took a trip on Calum's boat to see the seals, what a fab experience and such value for money! Calum's sense of humour made the trip all the more enjoyable! The water was crystal clear and such a calming place to be! We would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Plockton and what's more, Dogs are welcome onboard too, to be able to enjoy the fun!

Absolutely fantastic trip! Callum and Joy were brilliant hosts and a good laugh to boot. We saw about ten seals on our trip, and got quite close to several of them. The seals were amazing but the trip is also fantastic in terms of the spectacular views of Lochcarron. Gorgeous scenery. Great value for money, would recommend to anyone visiting the area. A must do!

Excellent trip. Calum is really entertaining but also informative about the area and the wildlife. It's a beautiful area so going on a boat trip around the area for 15quid is a no brainer anyway but throw in the seals and other wildlife and it's a fantastic thing to do.
