Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family and I were staying in the area and we wanted to visit Algonquin Provincial Park to experience the glorious scenery and we were not disappointed!

If you are visiting the area then you need to get a visitor's permit, you can do this online or from the Visitor's Center.

The rangers there are really helpful and can give you all the information you need about how the trails are, weather conditions and sightings of any creatures.

There are also washroom facilities and plenty of gifts that can be purchased.

Really great centre which provides an overview of the park and its history. Staff were very helpful and helped suggest walks to fit our time and ability. A must-do when visiting the park.

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE STAR OF THE PARK!!!!!
Everything everybody else said....and an additional mention of the hidden feature of the viewing platform: THE CAMERA!
There is a live camera aimed at the platform and if you stand on the right side at the little sign go into the ALGONQUIN PARK website on you phone, click the WEBCAMERA ...wait a few seconds and see yourself. (Just give it some time for all the interwebs to connect!!!)
This camera is live all year round during the daylight hours....and in the winter there is a bird feeder camera 24/7. VERY INTERESTING to watch during the night when you can scan through the last 12 hours.
THE GEM OF ALGONQUIN!!!!

One of the nicer VC’s that we have been to. Large sized with an art gallery, gift shop, restrooms, theater, cafe, wifi zone, and large walk through museum. Beautiful view off of the back deck.

Having called in at the west gate to purchase our day pass - 21 CAD, we drove through the park and finally ended up at the visitor centre in the east side. It was well worth the stop off.
Lots of history and local info about the fauna & flora.
We would definitely recommend spending an hour here ‘learning’.

Nice little visitor centre - nice introductory slide show, nice view out back of the centre (where the live camera feed comes from), washroom facilities

The Visitor Centre is packed weekends in fall with bus groups and people. The only good thing is the platform which you will need to wait a few minutes to get the best spot for a photo over the valley. The displays were good, a small gift shop with normal novelty gifts and was hoping to get a bite to eat but the cafe is gone to only a handful of small snacks and drinks self-serve.

Fabulous visitor centre rich with information about the area and the wildlife in the park. Especially liked leaning about the trains and the growth of the tourist sector. Very disappointed that the cafe was closed as we struggled to find anywhere for lunch

Great place to stop and have a bite to eat or take a tour through the museum. Very interesting to learn of the history that Algonquin Park holds. Great little gift shop if you are looking to by souvenirs. Observation deck is a must see with views for Kilometres.

Such a beautiful park, will have to make another trip, especially when the fall colors arrive. Only went on one trail because of the ice, but that was expected for the time of year. Was really expecting to see a Moose along the way, but not this time. The birds were amazing, got great photos!
