Recently, I began training for a triathlon and wasn't sure where I'd be able to squeeze some pool time into my schedule. McMurtry was great. They offered several different time slots for lap swim in their beautifully heated pool. I was able to go early in the morning, get cleaned up in the locker room and head to work. I... More

Fairly priced public pool. It sometimes gets full capacity therefore adding a wait time. Water was Luke-warm and they closed the competitive lanes, making the place compacted. Took my nieces to have some in the sun and they enjoyed it so no other complaints.

Amazing pool with tons of lanes! Love it and they even have a 12ft deep end. Water is heated in winter and they have equipment such as kickboards and buoys that are useful.

I didn't rate this a "5" because it is overcrowded, and kids form long lines to ride the water slides. This is a very inexpensive, well-maintained facility. There are tables in shaded areas if you are not swimming (you still have to pay the admittance fee.) If you have little kids, the splash zone is fantastic!

I love swimming. There is no better place to go lap swimming than McMurtry. The employees are friendly. The pool is clean. There are several times during the day that you can choose from to go swim laps. During the winter months, the water is heated, keeping the pool a comfortable temperature. The restrooms are keep clean.

Centrally located, clean changing rooms, safety conscious staff. There is a kiddy pool area and a deep end for diving & swimming laps. About 4 dollars to get in. People seemed to enjoy it.. Myself, not so much. I remember summers in Bakersfield when I was a kid. Most neighborhood parks had pools that were open thru entire summer vacation.... More

Mid Day lap swim is super at McMurtry. The water is kept at a great temp year around. The facility is always clean. There is an adequate number of showers and lockers. The office staff is friendly and learn your name fast so they check you in, nice. The only negative is the lack of electrical outlets in the women's... More
