The monument at Mechkin Kamen commemorates the struggle against Ottoman occupation of the region. The monument is located roughly 15 minute drive from Krushevo. The monument depicts a colossus of a man raising a large Boulder over his head, a moment before he is about to bring the Boulder down.
The monument would be of interest to the enthusiasts or Spomenik/socialist monuments/history.
The monument is rather daunting, reminding me a mix between a statue of a running man in the Memento Park in Budapest and the statue of King Karl XI, which grotesquely comes to life in fairytale about Nils and geese. So, if you feel intimidates by the large statues that are about to spring into action, maybe you continue onward.
Great nature ana a paragliding spot nearby as well.

A wonderful monument and a reminder of the 10 day independence of Krusevo. Particularly interesting to visit during the celebrations of Ilinden which take place on 2nd August next to the statue.

The Battle of Mečkin Kamen occurred on the hill of Mečkin Kamen ("Bear Stone"), a few kilometres from the town of Kruševo in present-day Macedonia, on 2-3 August 1903.

It was part of the Ilinden-Preobraženie uprising led by the Internal Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Organisation (IMARO or VMARO) against the Ottoman empire.

A monument exists today on Mečkin Kamen where Pitu Guli was killed

Beautiful forest surrounding the statue. Take a picnic and enjoy being amongst the trees. Very quiet up there. On the way back stop by the paragliding take off site to watch some people take off.

This place has great history, but you can't read anywhere, you should bring a guide or someone who knows the history. If going here on August you can possibly see paragliders on your way up.

A memorial to fallen Macedonians in their pursuit to end the rule of the Ottoman Empire. It's in a lovely park outside of Krusevo nice for walking and picnicking.

On the way to the monument there is paragliding place where you can see lots of people taking off with their paragliders. The kids loved it ,it was good fun watching. The monument is on a good location for a picnic and positive thing is that there is a toilet there ,unlike lots of picnic places in the region 😄
