Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Makedonium is a very interesting Yugoslavian architecture perched up on the hill in Krushevo, a memorial for the soldiers.

Ilinden, also known as Makedonium, is a monument in Kruševo, Macedonia. Makedonium was officially opened on August 2 of 1974, on the 30th anniversary of the Second Session of the Anti-fascist Assembly for the National Liberation of Macedonia and the 71st anniversary of Ilinden uprising. We enjoyed our time learning to fly our drone around this magnificent piece of architecture, it was very peaceful tucked away with beautiful views, and surrounded by nature.

The locals bring their horses to feed, the sound of the bells chiming around their necks as they trim the grass added to the ambiance.

Unfortunately, the monument was closed, so we were unable to enter to enjoy the stained glassed windows as the sun was setting from indoors.

I was waffling about whether this is worth a trip and glad that I made the detour.

there are 2 huts at the parking lot. the white hut sells souvenirs. the green hut serves as the information center/ticket office.

I guess not many people visit because the door to makedonium monument is locked so I had to climb back downhill and knocked on the green hut to ask them to open for me. entrance fee is 60 denars

inside the monument is one big empty space with stained glass windows, as well as the tomb of the president of krusevo.

A very impressive monument dedicated to all the fighters and revolutionaries of the Ilinden Uprising in 1903 and the fighters of the Second World War. It combines architectural beauty and historical significance. We had the opportunity to enter and see the interior as well. We were most surprised by the huge stained glass windows.

We came here on a sightseeing tour of Macedonia. As you approach the monument you can see the sheer size of the grandiose object. The shape of the object is really unique and corresponds to the brutal postmodernism style of the seventies. Wait. There is a beam of light coming from above!!! Oh my GOD, a metal cube shaped object is descending from the sky. Oh my god, it is beautiful. There are... people? coming out of the object. No they are not people. AAAAAAAAAAAAa they started killing everyone..there is blood everywhere. aaaaa am running. hiding behind a big rock. I don't think they can find me here. If you are reading this please call for help. Dear lord I think one of them saw me. No no no please don't aaaaaaaaaaa.....

This is a very nice building and I am leaving a nice review. I am human. We will not assimilate you.

One of the most interesting Spomeniks in former Yugoslavia. Not only is it quite well maintained, but it has a lot of history behind the independence of Macedonia behind it and you can enter inside

For those who like art, sculptures and history, this landmark of Krusevo is the place they should visit. It is close enough to the town centre, 20 min. walking.

It is a must see monument in Krusevo. Great for a group so the guide can give some explanation about the history.
