Fourth Street is not where the Berkeley action is; in fact, it is in a rather industrial area. But it is a nice strip of high quality stores and a few restaurants. You'll find everything from furniture and accessories to artwork and jewelry in an area of just a few blocks. The Crate and Barrel Outlet Store is a nice... More

This is one of my favorite spots in Berkeley and I go there whenever I'm in the East Bay. On weekends, there can be pet adoptions or dancers or bake sales. It's always lively. There's metered parking on the street but several 3 hour lots are entered on both sides of the street and at the end of the block.... More

Was warehouses and is now a very walkable shopping and eating area. Fun small shops, nice coffee shops, and good food. Really safe and relaxed vibe. Perfect sunny day outdoor activity.

Upscale shopping and dining area at the foot of University Avenue. Many nice shops and restarants, including Papyrus, Crate & Barrel, etc. Great area for brunch or lunch/dinner. Especially lovely during the holidays with festive lights.

You never expect to see this small interesting charming and trendy boutique village given its surrounding and proximity. It is a nice place to come for brunch lunch or afternoon tea. Plenty of foods choices and shops to browse and great places to meet friends as well. It is away from the bustling or residential neighborhood so in a way... More

One of a kind restaurants and cafes, specialty merchants with flair for design. Many of the stores inspire the designer in all of us and offer products, tools and lots of inspiration! Lively scene on an easy and low key street with small gathering spaces for casual encounters. Don't miss stores like The Gardner and The Paper Store.

There are a variety of funky, upscale and original shops along this two block stretch of west Berkeley. Although there is free parking behind the shops, it's often crowded, and spots are scarce. Still, it's worth taking time to spend a couple of hours browsing, noshing, visiting with friends. It's very walkable, so parking a block or two away might... More

It's a little shopping village in the heart of Berkeley with a little bit of everything for everyone. It is particularly beautiful on winter months, when the trees and sidewalks are decorated with holiday lights. But even during regular months, the tree lined streets come alive with lifts at night. A great place to shop -or window shop- for furniture... More
