Friendly staff and a wide variety of exhibits make this site very worth the visit. I camped at the National Recreation Area to the north of Panhandle (free) and had a lovely outing down to visit this museum.

This museum has a good collection that represents what early Texan life was like in the panhandle. There is even a train car that kids and adults can explore and a dugout house. It's free/by donation and well worth the stop!

Always a good place to visit with kids. Love the exhibits. It is good to revisit the past. The little Chapel is a nice touch.
