Friendly staff and a wide variety of exhibits make this site very worth the visit. I camped at the National Recreation Area to the north of Panhandle (free) and had a lovely outing down to visit this museum.
This museum has a good collection that represents what early Texan life was like in the panhandle. There is even a train car that kids and adults can explore and a dugout house. It's free/by donation and well worth the stop!
