Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I spent about 3 hours walking around The Village by myself. Not was did I feel insecure doing so. There are plenty of shops in which to stop and browse. I visited several gift shops, one restaurant (there are several), Santa Land (really cool), and sat in the shade for quite a while. Truly enjoyed and the weather was perfect. Public restrooms are on Bartlett St behind the Chamber of Commerce.

Lots of different types, yes has standard souvenir shops, but has more: snack and candy, idiotic, movie museum where you can take some awesome pixs, restaurants, and have a nice walk. Public restrooms and free parking available. Lots of awnings to protect you from weather elements.

Plenty of free parking in the Bartlett St Parking Lot, you can walk from Veterans Park and Pine Knot Marina all the way to Northwoods Resort. Tons of small shops, galleries a movie theater and restaurants to shop, dine and unwind. Wear your walking shoes and bring a camera. Photo ops lakeside in the park or with the horse drawn Stage Coach at Village Center. Spring, Summer and Fall, one of Southern California's most beautiful destinations for lunch, or a get-a-way stay!

In the mood for a walk...food...shopping? This is the place for you. Lots of interesting shops, yummy food, and lovely redone sidewalks. There is a movie theater and a theater with live performances.

While I love to be out in nature and on the lake, I always make a point of going "downtown." One of my favorites is the Copper Q, cooking store and bakery. I always get wonderful snacks there.

This is just where you go when you're up in Big Bear. It's a spider web of streets with lots of little shops and restaurants. They have also installed these large heating areas where you can go stand and warm yourself up on the way to your favorite spot.

It pretty much has everything, coffee, food, bars, etc. There's also a music store and tons of gift shop type places.

My family loves shopping and walking around while eating ice cream. The bad thing was we felt a few of the store owners were a bit racist, following us around while we looked at things and not doing the same thing to other customers. I did say to one man, "I was planning on buying quit a few things but thanks to you, I'm not".

I hate to shop but not my wife. This place is a perfect spot for her to get lost for an afternoon while I bike or ski in season. Lots of small shops that don't seem to mind that my wife looks at a lot of things before buying something that she many times will return for an exchange. At an appointed time and place in the village, we meet for dinner at one of the excellent restaurants. All ends well!

The main street is not pedestrianized bythere is ample room on the side walks. There are also plenty of restaurants, ice cream parlors and other entertainment options. There are also plenty of gaudy souvenir shops which are probably best avoided. Otherwise come in as a town center, this is pleasant.

Stroll up and down the Village streets, get a bite to eat, enjoy live entertainment, or just sit and people watch! Plenty of parking in the near by parking lots.

Things have changed since vacationing in Big Bear over 30 yrs. ago. There are still the souvenir shops you would expect to find but the additional restaurants with outside seating and the newer movie theatre showing 3 different films has livened up the three blocks of what I call the Village. The ice cream shoppe was filled as it was a warm day and not being a holiday week-end you could walk on the sidewalks without getting bumped by other tourists.
There is a stairway up to several small shops where used books are sold along with the usual mountain decor. Hard to find at first.
There is now The Cave which has Cover bands every week-end and that used to be the movie theatre location.
There are beautiful bright flowers planted in high containers along the main thoroughfare.
A charming little "village" but can get too crowded with too many people during holiday week-ends and all the snow bound visitors in the winter. You won't want to drive into the village if you can catch the mountain transit buses or call Uber to go into the village. Not much parking available and traffic is horrendous.
