A gentlemen made all of these; there are several of them but the dragon here is the most impressive and the largest. It starts on one side of the road and ends on the other side. It is quite a draw. The best way to...More

To see all of the sculptures requires driving along the road, but it is worth the effort. They are unlike anything I have seen before. Free.

We drove to Borrego Springs to see all the wildflowers which were very nice. However, the art created by Ricardo Brecedo was amazing. There are about a dozen of these statuesscattered about in Galleta Meadows and they are all worth stopping for. Anyone can drive...More

almost beyond one's imagination to find this fabulous artistry in the middle of a desert next to a town of 3,000 people. They just get bigger and better with each new addition.

This was really interesting. The artwork and so detailed - like they are alive. You can also see them along the roadside here and there - it's an extra bonus to see on a long drive.

Who was/are the sculptors? So far I've not seen one word about him/her/them. A breathtaking deficiency on the sites realted to Galleta Meadows. What is the story behind the concept of the sculptures and how, where and when they were constructed?
