- MAbeliniBoston, Massachusetts1,082 contributionsFun stop to view and Hand Feed a farm of Ostriches and EmusWe detoured to Ostrich Land and Solvang on our drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. We really enjoyed this stop. Parking in front of the farm is free. There are some products for sale in the gift shop that feature ostrich related trinkets. This is where you purchase your tickets. The Farm charges a nominal fee ($7 pp) to enter the farm where the Ostriches and Emus are penned. If you are interested in feeding them, it is $1 for a small pan of feed. The Ostriches are very eager to eat and need little encouragement to approach and have some food. They are not tame, so petting is not advised. We saw some lone ostrich eggs in the dirt during our visit too. We enjoyed our stop here and would recommend to others who enjoy animal encounters.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 January 2024
- Cheers2lifeCorona, California448 contributionsA MUST stop.. super fun/uniqueOstrich Land is a MUST stop for anyone young or old. If you want to feed the Emu & Ostrich it's only a few bucks for a good sized pan of food. There are a lot of areas to feed them. The grounds are well laid out and the animals free roam on a big piece of land. If you get lucky to see the Ostrich run... it sure is a site to see. It's pretty cool and amazing to see. In the store you can see the size of an Emu egg and an Ostrch egg.. they are both HUGE. This place is a MUST stop, at least once.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 June 2024
- StevenBerlinChino Hills, California716 contributionsWonderful and unexpected ostrich and emu farm on the way to Solvang. This was very unexpected. We spotted a few ostrich running on a large land, so we stopped. Sure enough, it was an ostrich and an emu farm. They have a store with these special large eggs, clothing, and lots of things all ostrich related. You can pay to go outside and get a real close look. The two different animals are separated, I believe. We enjoyed talking to the store. Owners about the two species and had a great time. Make sure to check this stop out if you head our to Santa Ynez wine country Solvang.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 June 2024
- Jeff S21 contributionsStop here once. It’s fun!Passing through Solvang and want to see and feed feathered dinosaurs for 30-45 minutes for less than $10? This is a great place to do it. Simple fun seeing these huge birds up close. And you don’t feel guilty or taken advantage of because the price is fair for the experience, the staff is friendly, and the birds look well cared-for with lots of room to roam. (Much more than any zoo I’ve ever visited). Basically everything you could want from a roadside attraction.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 August 2024
- DFNJ274 contributionsFun stop on our way to Santa Barbara! We were staying in Solvang and headed to Santa Barbara and our kids wanted to stop here (they actually are not teens but in their early 20s) and everyone had a great time! For the price of admission it is definitely worth the Instagram posts and possible holiday card pictures. And who can beat the dollar cost to get to feed the ostriches! Between the six of us, I think we bought three things of food, which was enough and a fun time was had by all!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 24 August 2024

We showed up about 30 minutes before closing so they let us in free, and even gave us ostrich food for free. It's a nice little distraction, my infant was really excited as this was really her first "zoo" experience. I'm not sure I'd come back but it's something you should see at least once.

Great for a quick stop over on your way in to Solvang. Only $1 for a a bowl of food and lots of ostriches and emus around to feed! $5 per adult and $2 per child for admission. There's also a cart out front where you can buy and ostrich egg ($40), ostrich oil ($22) and other souvenirs. Hold on tight to the bowl handles as the birds are strong and keep your arms outstretched as you wouldn't want to get accidentally pecked by those powerful beaks. We all had a great time!

If you are passing and have never seen Ostriches close up or have an urge to feed some then this is the place to do so. $5 each to get in which is a bit much really for the set up. An extra $1 for a bowl of food, which I think they could give you for free if say two or more of you paying to go in. Considering that really you are doing their job for them, and what do they do with all those birds and eggs?
Its a bit of fun but you wont spend long here so dont go too far out of your way. 15 minutes should do it, half hour max.

We were on our way to Solvang and saw the sign to Ostrich Land. We decided to stop and see what's the park is all about. Entrance fee are $5 for adult and $2 for children. We paid $1 for emus and ostriches food. The park is really clean. The ostriches are more aggressive than the emu. We had fun feeding them. Our entire family had the chance to feed the animals with the $1 feed. Lots of area to take pictures. There is ample area for the animals to roam around. There are a couple of placards to read about the emus and ostriches. We spent about 1 hour in this park.

$5 Entry Fee for Adults, plus $1 for big bowl of bird food...this is a lot of solid entertainment for $6.
With the bowl food, you'll get up close and personal with the Ostriches and Emus. Really close...these giantass birds just might bite off your pinky if you're not careful. They're cute and scary at the same time. If they do bite, you can always get your revenge later by buying some ostrich jerky and eating their ancestors.
Great way to spend $6 and 30 minutes while in Solvang.

I love these gorgeous monsters, they are super beautiful and powerful. You can pay a couple bucks to feed them, gotta love their business model, but not gonna lie, I LOVE to feed them.
The place is organized simply. You pay to get in, you get to see Ostriches and Emus very much up close, but safely. Keep your hands and fingers safe, these are not friendly beasts, but they are magnificent! Highly recommend buying a pan or two of their food, feeding them is fun. If you want kids to do so, monitor it, you can do so safely, just make sure to monitor and that the kids are not inviting the Ostrich to have a finger snack. They don't want altercations either and are used to being fed, but if provoked, any animal could react.

It was fun to feed the dumbest birds on earth. We got food to feed them in a large dog food bowl that was attached to a metal dustpan. We were to hold the dustpan with two hands, and were to find this was due to the birds repeatedly trying to yank it away from us. After numerous failures to take the bowls from us they started to peck at the food.
Afterwards we reflected on who was dumber, the birds for their coming to the fence to feed fron our offerings or us for paying for the food and standing around with a dustpan/bowl full of grain for them to eat.
It was fun......... lol

Well, what a surprise! My son and grand children told me you have to go as we were leaving to go to Solvang. I was not very excited to go. He said "Mom it is only $5.00 each. My husband and I decided to go. We bought the food to feed the ostrich and emus ($1.00) We had so much fun! My husband and I are seniors and we were laughing so much. If you ever are in the Buellton, Solvang area it is a must!

Great fun stop for everyone. These huge ostriches and Emu birds will leave you smiling along with the baby ground squirrels. Make sure to get at least 2 food bowls and save food for the birds way in the back. Its a short walk in the dirt to visit with the birds. Hold the bowl through the fence slots or low over the top. Birds seem healthy and treated well with plenty of space. Leave a cash tip for them 😃
