Castello di Amorosa is one of Napa Valley's most unique wineries. At over 136,000 square feet, the authentically-built 13th-century Tuscan-style castle and winery offers a variety of tour options including Reserve wine tours, food and wine pairing tours and a cheese and wine tour. Castello di Amorosa makes a variety of award-winning wines from its location on the hillside above Calistoga. Try "Il Barone," the wine that Robert Parker rated 94 points. The Castello also produces Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Rose, Pinot Bianco, Sangiovese, Barbera, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Il Brigante blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, La Castellana Super Tuscan Blend, Il Raggio del Sole, Fantasia, Il Passito Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon and Late Harvest Gewurztraminer, the top dessert wine at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for two consecutive years.

Neat place, cool castle - however the wine tasting was terrible, not very well organized, packed with people and screaming kids, and the basement was very hot. You have to pay the $25 for a tour - and the wine tasting is included, and you...More

When you go here it's really an experience. Really a fun visit. I recommend a trip here if it's your first time to Napa Valley. Make sure you take the tour and pay the extra for that. Don't just go in for a tasting. Week...More

This vineyard has a medieval style castle, and you can take either a self guided tour ($25 for adults, includes 5 wine sampling, $15 for kids, includes two samples of grape juice), or you could do a more in depth guided tour with a guide....More

The indepth tour of the castle and caves was amazing. The guide was very knowledgeable about the ground, building as well as the wine. The building was amazing. The wines were very good. Overall had an awesome visit.

I may be in the minority with this, but I really wasn't that impressed by this winery. I understand that a great deal of time and effort went into building the castle to be as authentic as possible, but I feel it misses the point....More

If you want to do one big tour of a vineyard and winery this is a good one. You don't get to the vineyards outside but there's a very comprehensive tour inside and the crazy castle designed by the former generations of the present owner...More

Fascinating building. Beautiful grounds. Worth a visit. Some red. wines very good. Whites-not so much. Went as part of a large group tour, so they split the group to make it manageable. We were not rushed through the tasting.

I did see someone with a dog inside the castle. I know they don't allow strollers. Hope this answers your question.
