We went to Calistoga right after the glass fire shifted to the north and the residents were returning and the city reopening! Thankfully Tank Garage had reopened and we were one of two tastings that day! It met every expectation we had and even more! We had looked forward to it and it did not disappoint even after the fires and during the pandemic the testing took us away from that for 2 hours! Connery was our wine expert and was just what we needed! Great personality and expertise! We walked away wanting to already return! And we will! Thank you Connery for such a great time even during the extreme duress everyone is under! We certainly appreciated our time at Tank and the great tasting and convo! Cheers!

Cool vibe. In a old gas station. Reminds me of a craft brewery. Our guide, Aaron, was awesome and had such great knowledge about the product and held great conversation. Will definitely come back!

$30 pp, waived with 3 bottle purchase or new membership Kid friendly No pets, except for service pets If you’re visiting, or even passing through Calistoga, you really should add Tank Garage Winery to your itinerary. Retro gas pumps stand prominently at this gas station converted to winery local on Highway 29, still reading their last fill ups totaling less than $4.99. Conary was a very knowledgeable host, and walked us through our wine tastings for the warm September afternoon. Generally, tastings take place inside the old station converted into a bar, but during these Covid times, they’ve set up a large canopy just outside the station to accommodate guests. Their winery is uniquely one-offs. Meaning they produce a wine once, and as soon as they sell out, you will never be able to purchase that wine from Tanks again. This produces some delicious, and quickly coveted, Napa Valley wines. Tank Garage Winery’s production facility began in 2014, and they opened their tasting room thereafter in 2016. It was a gamble they were unsure would stick, but everyone quickly discovered this unique winery and have flocked to their one-off wines. One unique wine we were able to try during our tasting was a carbonic white called “Going Home.” The process of Carbonic Masteration was completely new to us, yet succinctly described by Conary. Apparently, it is a process more common with red wines, but Tank’s has successfully, and deliciously, accomplished this fermentation inside the grape process with their “Going Home” wine. Think of beer meets wine in a light and palate pleasing fizz. Definitely refreshing and surprising on a warm afternoon. The labels and names of their wines are just as unique as the wines themselves. As a music lover, I was lured into purchasing the Backstage Pass (a Malbec blend) sight unseen, as well as their Wild Eyes Malbec-Cab blend. Both bold and bright wines, I may just have to go back and purchase again! If you’re reading this while we are still here at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park (through the ned of November 2020) please swing by spot #13 for a brochure and a referral card. If you happen to read this after our departure, please let them know you read our review – Olivia and Lance

My wife and I booked a B & B in Calistoga in late July. As we traveled north up Highway 128 thru wine country we passed many of the mega wineries that looked very inviting. We had already decided that this trip we would look for some smaller wineries. As we drove thru Calistoga we noticed Tank Garage Winery(a refurbished gas station) right off the Highway We booked a tasting for the next morning at 11:00. Upon our arrival we were met by Heath, our wine tender. Due to Covid we were seated outside in front of the beautiful tasting room that used to be the gas station garage. Heath was very informative and friendly. He told us about the history of the winery and went into detail about all the wines we tasted. We ended up joined their wine club. Heath also gave us great information on other small wineries in the area and some great tips on places to eat. Thank you Tank Garage Winery!!

This was our last stop after 1 day in Sonoma and 2 days in Napa... We loved our host's enthusiasm for their wines, their labels, the vibe of the whole place was awesome! Nothing fancy, but the wines were delicious. We joined their wine club. Shipping is very reasonable.
