Strong chilly winds and a hot sun at 4000 meters above the sea level. Good place for photography. Scenic views of Snow Capped Mountains. There is a van at the top selling Maggi, Veg Momos with Spicy Chutney / Sauce, Tea/Coffee is simply amazing.

We drove to Haa Valley, passing Chele La Pass on the way. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side as it was cloudy and gloomy and we didn't get a good view of the Himalayan ranges.

My wife and I were on a birding trip in Bhutan and our guide brought us up to this pass. The views were spectacular. We went in mid-November so it was quite chilly and windy but it was worth the scenic drive up.

Great view of the mountains, the yaks, and the planes landing in Paro. You have to park the car and walk around. It could be difficult at the beginning, because of the altitude (4000 meters), but you will never forget it

This pass is different as it is on way from Paro to haa valley, whereas Dochula pass is between Thimphu and Punakha valley.Definitely both should be visited.

One can hire a cab to the place I am sure. Bhutan has some rules about tourists going off on their own. You can ask your tour agency to customise your experience. What they typically push is a well trodden circuit which... More
