Dzongdrakha Temple is a compound of temples. Since it's located among sheer cliffs and also shares architectural designs of Taktshang, it offers a short distance alternative for people who cannot visit Taktshang. The expansive view of Bondey valley and then descend from a trail behind main temple is something visitors can try. Though it has its own Tshechu (festival), my... More

Unfortunately a lot of the important Dzongs in Bhutan have suffered from fires at some point. The best part about Paro Dzong is it is intact. Just by walking round you can feel the atmosphere and character of the place. The wood carving is stunning, the floors and wall murals ooze history. This is a must visit site in Bhutan.

Though it is one one of the many temples, it is quite beautiful. Dont forget to carry your id & immigration papers as the security personnel may ask them.

Like Tigers Nest Monastery, this temple is also located on a cliff though it doesn't look as spectacular. It can also be seen on the approach to Paro Airport. We were told that, during the festivals, there are wonderful dances that one can see here. Worth visiting only if you have extra time on your hands.

It's a simple place for a visit and sit down to meditate. Buddha statues and artwork is nice real Bhutanese style.

We were lucky enough to be visiting for the festival of Paro and the place was amazing. The temple itself is beautiful.

A not to be missed temple, no hiking needed but some steps here and there. Good look out point with good breeze to have a bird view of Paro including a top view of the royal palace. This temple got really popular among many Asian countries after the Hong Kong celebrity couple, Tony Leung' and Carina Lau's wedding took place... More
