Wonderful area with public access. Tidal so it cleans out regularly. No swimming allowed but one can fish. Halibut caught in winter back in the shallows. SUP, boat and jet ski rentals near hi-way and Adams. Only lagoon with water sports.

They paddled, kicked, and stroked around the peaceful Lagoon. Even the adults had light bumping jaunts across the lagoon.... More

My husband and I went for our anniversary and had so much fun! Would highly recommend the waverunners, but they also have stand-up paddleboards and kayaks.

Carlsbad Lagoon is also known as Agua Hedionda which means stinky waters, named by the Luiseno Native Americans long ago. Locals do refer to it as Agua Hedionda but also use Carlsbad Lagoon as names. At the northwest end is Carlsbad Sports which offers a variety of activities like SUP, waterskiing, jet skis, waterwheel trikes. Plan to stay a few... More

The lagoon has two distinct personalities: The west side near where the equipment rentals are located is busy with jet skis where you can fuel your adrenaline. If you prefer a quieter experience with nature, paddle your SUP or kayak east and enjoy calmer water and enjoy the lovely estuary. There is also a small public beach at the northeast... More

Recently went to a work function hosted at the Carlsbad Lagoon and they did a fantastic job! HR did a lot of the setup work but they pretty much gave her free range to set up like she would like. They provided her with some of the tables and we had the furthest end of the beach to ourselves. They... More

Fantastic lagoon for water sport activities. We've spent almost a day here did kayaking and it's beautiful to the jumping fish around you. Only issue is that there is no toilet around here.

We rented a kayak to float in the Lagoon. What a beautiful sunny day to just float around on the lake it was a little crowded but very enjoyable.
